By Bruce Haigh, published 16/5/2013

The Salvation Army has been marginalised by a ruthless and fearful government.

Runner, your little rant has given me some thought:

"Thanks Mr Rudd/Ms Gillard for a total mess. How foolish was Australia to vote Labour/Greens in 2007."

Yes how true, and previous government who have permitted the Catholic and other 'churches' to benefit from the biggest scam of all, the permission as a 'religious institution' to negate them from the obligation to pay tax.

In Australia, the obnoxious Catholic Church is one of most wealthy, degenerative, immoral and unaccountable institution still operating in this country. Never mind their blatant myopic view of any moral stance against child molestation, fantasy delusion and their moral compunction to actually, really, truly do some good in the community, makes them, for me, the number one target for taxation and disdain against their moral genocide and the worship of false icons!

As to the Salvo's, I have acquaintances who attend their 'church' one where those in power or influence, right down to the troops at the lower tiers, are provided with free accommodation, new cars which are leased each year and a budget for food that puts my weekly shopping bill to shame.

MS is delusional in her fervent love of the illegal immigrants we now receive by the boat load and has no desire to check the verifiable facts that most are economic refugees rather than those seeking real asylum based on supposed UN law.

Delusion seems to be the name of the game in some of the responses to these articles, Julia Gillard and her ilk have a lot of responsibility to our residents but have forgotten the sacrifice and earned respect and appropriate remuneration that should come from years of hard work, sacrifice and diligence in paying tax into a system that is now morally corrupt and ethically bankrupt.

So much for 'doing unto others as you would do unto you', it now only applies if you arrive illegally via some shoddy Indonesian fishing boat.

A tragedy we will all look back on and pontificate as history reveals the truth about these immoral people purporting to represent the downtrodden in our society.

And now we have some common sense that will see the 'flood' of economic refugees pouring into Australia, somewhat curtailed.

Late news today has confirmed:

"Controversial legislation to excise the Australian mainland from the migration zone to deter asylum seeker boat arrivals has passed parliament.

Federal Labour, with the backing of the coalition, on Thursday successfully steered its excision legislation through the Senate and the lower house - a move labelled by the Australian Greens as a stain on our national character.

It will mean all asylum seekers arriving by boat can be processed at offshore facilities on Nauru and Papua New Guinea's Manus Island.

Previously, only people arriving on Ashmore Island, the Cartier Islands, Christmas Island and the Cocos Islands were subject to offshore processing.'

Fantastic, I welcome Marilyn Shepherd's view on this.

I had the luck to visit Manus Island in 2003, a wonderful place, tropical palm trees, a friendly and generous local population, a climate that most south of the 30th parallel would envy and yet they seem to bleat and complain about living in tents, despite having clean water, free clothes, 3 square meals a day, free supply of cigarettes and other 'luxuries' we in Australia have to somehow pay for out of our every depleting meagre salaries or profits from our hard run and competitive businesses.

Sympathy no, reality, yes.

MS if you want them here, please sign up and move them into your property, if they don't all fit, please buy a larger segment of land and put them to work fulfilling your myopic view of what is 'true and just'.

Please though, don't expect me to pay for this, although, unfortunately I will have to do so until our blind pollies realise the follies of the existing entry levels for all people seeking a 'so-called' 'better life in my homeland'.

Does this make me racist, probably, but I have no desire to finance economic refugees, no matter what you, in your 'socially myopic view' deems them appropriate for status and residency in this slowly decaying 'fortunate country'.

Geoff of Perth - Sound like good news but it is a Labor LIE, simply put since August over 18,000 ECONOMIC INVADERS have arrived, guess where the vast majority are released into the community because the detention centers are full or in some cases not properly equipped to take them.

Guess who is paying for them TAXPAYERS directly and indirectly through the charities.

Juliar will be able to boast under her Government there was not one homeless economic refugee, she will forget to mention the tens of thousands of homeless Australians and the strain put on the rental market by these invaders.

"How foolish was Australia to vote Labour/Greens in 2007." runner
"someone needs to be fired" Philip S
"they're a morally corrupt organisation" o sung wu
"all these so called charities, commencing with the Salvation Army and it's cohorts" praxidice
"I have personal knowledge of many who are living in anything but 'penury' thanks to the public purse." "amounts to T R E A S O N. I'm particularly incensed with the number of opportunist parasites sponging off the boat people issue, particular legal leeches & charities" praxidice
"Don't forget they are also sending money home and giving money to smugglers" Philip S
"ILLEGAL Boat opportunists, are nothing more than indolent, slothful criminals" o sung wu
"the bloodsucking parasites & the judiciary are concerned." praxidice
"it now only applies if you arrive illegally" "Does this make me racist, probably" Geoff of Perth

Marilyn, it is all part of the grand conspiracy between the likes of the Labor Party, Greens, Judges, Do-Gooders, Lefties, Commo's, Pink's, Al Qaedu, the Taliban, atheists, gays, humpty dumpty and now we can add the Salvation Army, hope I have not left anyone out.

'afternoon to you PRAXIDICE...

The offence of 'treason' was, I repeat was contained within the old 'Commonwealth Crimes Act, 1900'. Any alleged offence pursuant to that Act, where a 'power' of arrest was cited, was at Section, 8a of that Act.

Whether or not the offence of 'treason' has been repealed, who'd know ? This pathetically weak country of ours, wouldn't dare have such an offence listed now, lest it offend those of the 'Left', you know, the likes of Marilyn Shepherd and ors !

o sung wu, prattling on about the crime of treason, the majority of those shot for committing so called treason were innocent and just made an example of by those in power to show who's boss! Once we go down that path, you find the executioners start working overtime.
What were you in a previous life, sounds like some kind of copper, by the tone of your posts, more likely a member of the Gestapo. Yep, they were some kind of coppers too, one of their functions was looking for those committing "treason". There are enough on here in agreement with you to make up the firing squad!
