Money is not being spent on refugees, it is now going to be spent allowing refugees to live in utter penury.
Now they pretend they have excised the mainland in a last fit of criminal madness just because a few hundred refugees got here.

I wonder how the racist fools think anyone else in the neighbourhood is now going to bother to uphold the rights of refugees when we won't after writing the convention and being the 6th to ratify it.

I believe the number of refugees in question is slightly more than 'a few hundred', more likely well into the thousands. Furthermore, I have personal knowledge of many who are living in anything but 'penury' thanks to the public purse. It would be more correct to say hundreds of thousands of old-age Australians who have paid taxes for their whole life are now living in penury because the gubmunt has squandered so much money they simply can't afford to increase the pension. In my book, providing benefits of any kind to aliens when Australian citizens are disadvantaged thereby, amounts to T R E A S O N. I'm particularly incensed with the number of opportunist parasites sponging off the boat people issue, particular legal leeches & charities. Even if the actual handouts etc are dropped to a level agreeable to the majority of Australians, the hidden costs of avaricious lawyers, charities and probably others we don't even know about, are unacceptable.

Prax, is there a reason you are so hateful? REfugees are human beings with the exact same rights as you, they are not cockroaches.

Marilyn Shepherd - A few hundred can escalate into tens of thousands unless the golden welfare for life incentive is taken away.

Now they are going to use the charities as a second source of money etc.

Don't forget they are also sending money home and giving money to smugglers to bring there relatives.

The Government should check where all the money is going then they will find out where they really came from.

Quote "with the exact same rights as you" NO they are not they have contributed not one cent to Australia IN fact they have COST Australia BILLIONS of dollars.

Quote "uphold the rights of refugees" WHY even the UN said most were Economic refugees. Something you conveniently left out.

Hi there MARILYN SHEPHERD & PRAXIDICE...

As usual Ms Shepherd, you're speaking absolute rubbish ! These ILLEGAL Boat opportunists, are nothing more than indolent, slothful criminals seeking the best country in which to settle. In order they may access and enjoy a lifetime of the best social service benefits, they can cadge or sponge - from the already economically and grossly overburdened local taxpayers and other LAWFUL inhabitants.

It's their sole intent to simply milk this country dry of scarce resources that rightfully belong to our own disadvantaged and elderly pensioners, who hitherto, have paid their taxes, and defended this country in times of war, during their long productive lives !

So please MARILYN SHEPHERD, accompany these illegal people back from whence they've come, and very quickly too ! Because I'm absolutely sick and tired of your vacuous and dull-witted bleating, about these criminal interlopers !

Good evening PRAXIDICE...

Your last contribution herein, where you mentioned in part, the word TREASON...? I couldn't agree with your sentiments more. You hit the nail on the head in your thoughtful summation on this topic. Please keep it up.

As far as I'm aware, there has never been a finding of guilt in any matter (Australian courts) where a person was charged with treason. I can only assume there is an arrangements between the judiciary and the political circus to the effect that any such charge involving a politician will be considered null & void. At the very least, bloodsucking parasites enjoy considerable protection, not all of it legitimate. Furthermore, I understand the red-headed witch was the subject of at least two charges of treason, apparently to do with her not standing down when under investigation for a serious criminal offence. Not having a background in law, I'm not in the position to make an informed comment on whether or not the true legal situation is as its been put to me, however nothing would surprise me where the bloodsucking parasites & the judiciary are concerned.
