There was nothing wrong with Israel's 1967 pursuing and beating the Arab armies that attacked it, including the very timely preemptive air-strike: Israel should have gone even further in to destroy all the rest of the Arab armies and beat them to dust, which would have been possible had it not diverted forces to control and establish itself the occupied areas, then bring its soldiers back home.

The problem is with the occupation that followed.

Once victory was achieved, Israel should have washed it hands and demonstrated that it is a peace-loving nation with no interest in more territory.

But as Alan said, it was a military coup. Due to the "call to war" rhetoric and military offensive by Arabs, Israel had no option but to attack when it did. Had it waited, it would have witnessed Nasser's objective - the destruction of Israel. Nasser stated:

"We shall enter with its soil saturated in blood." ... "The National aim: the eradication of Israel."

Terrorist attacks against Israel increased. In the first four months of 1967, with 37 attacks.

On April 7, 1967 Israel shot down six Syrian miGs over its territory.

May 16th 1967, Nasser ordered out the UN Emergency Force stationed in Sinai since 1956.

May 15th 1967, Egyptian troops massed near the Israeli border.

Once the UNEF withdrew, Voice of the Arabs (May 18, 1967) announced:

"The sole method we shall apply against Israel is total war, which will result in the extermination of Zionist existence."

May 18th 1967, Syrian troops massed along the Golan Heights.

May 20th 1967, Syrian Defence Minister Hafez Assad pronounced:

"I, as a military man, believe that the time has come to enter into a battle of annihilation"

Almost daily, Nasser challenged Israel to fight.

27th May, 1967: "Our basis objective will be the destruction of Israel. The Arab people want to fight."

28th May, 1967: "We will not accept any ... co-existnce with Israel... Today the issue is not the establishment of peace between Arab states and Israel... The war with Israel is in effect since 1948"

30th May, 1967, King Hussein of Jordan's signed a defence pact with Egypt, Nasser trumpeted:

"The armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon are poised on the borders of Israel ... standing behind us are the armies of Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan and the whole Arab nation. ... Arabs are arranged for battle, the critical hour has arrived. We have reached the stage of serious action and not declarations."

June 4th 1967, Iraq joined the military alliance with Egypt, Jordan and Syria, President Abdur Rahman Aref of Iraq declared:

"Our goal is clear - to wipe Israel off the map."

Arab forces mobilized: 250,000 troops (approximately half in the Sinia), more than 2000 tanks, and 700 aircraft ringed Israel.

Israel's only option was to strike first. On June 5, 1967 the order was given.

Hart may not understand the significance of Arab rhetoric and the military manouevres, but any military man would ... as indeed, would any reasonable person.

If Hart believes Arab intentions to Israel were benign, he is completely out of touch with reality.

I'm afraid that I agree.

Alan Hart has as much credibility as a week-old bagel.

In fact, if I were a 9/11 conspiracy nut, I would have despaired when he came out as a supporter. "Oh no, not him. With supporters like Alan Hart, who needs opponents..." and so on.

Wow, that's convincing. A "consultant" who was "close" to "one the world’s most prominent construction compan[ies]"

Or, as one of the conspiracy-nut sites reports:

"... he has been assured by a top-level demolitions/engineering expert who wishes to remain anonymous..."

I can certainly understand the need for anonymity. Just imagine how much he would earn on the late-night-show circuit, if he actually i) believed his own story and ii) was confident enough to put his name to it. He'd obviously feel very bad about earning millions of dollars.

Fact is, he was probably just another conspiracy nut, with a half-baked conspiracy theory.

The clincher, you see Arjay, is that there is absolutely no evidence to support those "theories". Lots of speculation about motive - heaps of those, in fact, all different - but no credibility as to either means, or opportunity.

It really is time you let go. It's damaging your ability to reason and to think clearly. Which cannot be a good thing.

The Herald Sun also on this day conducted a survey and 77% of 10,000 respondents agreed with Kevin Bracken.They do not believe the official story.In Germany it is higher @ 85% as with the people of New York.
