"...The Albanese government has axed a controversial $18m grant to a leadership foundation that the governor general, David Hurley, personally lobbied the Morrison government to back.

The decision late on [7 September 2022] follows senior government officials suggesting the Australian Future Leaders Program was under review as part of the October budget process.

Guardian Australia understands a decision has already been made to axe the program. Concerns were raised due to it being established with a one-off grant without a competitive tender.

On [8 September 2022], the treasurer, Jim Chalmers, confirmed the government had concluded the $18m initial grant and $4m a year of ongoing funding “didn’t pass muster” and did not represent “value for money”..."

FYI, if you read that article, the Project for the New American Century is a think tank devoted to ensuring America's dominance in the world. i.e. 'The Rules Based order', something that is completely separate from 'International Law'.
Also Victoria Nuland, married to Robert Kagan, is the most instrumental person who helped overthrow the country in 2014 and helped created this mess.
