It looks as though Albozo's 2IC is deeply in China's pocket like Shanghai Sam before him. Along with claiming China's investment in the pacific was a good thing:

"Deputy Labor leader Richard Marles praised China’s record on human rights, credited Xi Jinping with being a “deeply impactful President” and said Australia should stay out of contested disputes in the South China Sea, echoing a sentiment uttered by then-senator Sam Dastyari a year earlier. Mr Marles, Labor’s defence spokesman at the time, made the unscripted remarks, at odds with party policy, in a Q&A session following a speech at Oxford University in October 2017.

In a video recording of the previously unpublished remarks obtained by The Australian, Mr Marles praised China’s human rights contribution and described it as a “force for good”. “You can make an argument that it’s as big a contribution to human rights in terms of the alleviation of poverty that comes from it that we have seen in our lifetimes,” he said.

A mention of violations came in a sentence that drew an equivalence with Australia’s record of abuses. “And so while there will be criticisms, you know, of China’s human rights record here and there, as there will be criticisms of Australia’s, it’s important to really recognise what contribution China has made, and it’s huge.”

Mr Marles claimed that while Australia and China “have different political systems, China is, on balance, unquestionably a force for good”.

Marles is off his rocker. How could anyone want such a treacherous deputy PM. He is talking like the Chinese ambassador. Everything China does is all Australia's fault.

The Australian reported on Friday that prospective Labor defence minister and Solomon Islands expert, Richard Marles, had repeatedly encouraged China to build closer ties to Pacific countries and dismissed fears that China would seek to subjugate and militarise these nations. “The idea the Pacific nations would adhere to a call from Australia to not engage with China is silly,” Marles said.

SI is not the only threat. Don't forget China's deal with PNG. Darus Island is not 1700 kms from our coast. It is only 200kms.

While the usual yappers are saying that Dutton's call to prepare for war is "over the top", China appears to be preparing for war with Australia.

It should be a very short war, after our 3 days reserve of fuel is gone.

Adam Bandt, said
"Coal & gas corporations are fueling the climate crisis and communities are footing the bill.
Our policy will ensure that flood victims are able to sue them for the damage they’ve done. It’s time the culprits were held accountable & paid up.
Unlike Liberal & Labor we don’t take donations from the coal & gas corporations fuelling the crisis, so you can trust us to push the next Government to hold them to account".

Has he stopped using fossil fuel, oils and products manufactured by coal - his car? otherwise, a hypocrite.

If coal and gas - any mining and activities the Greens hate - go, there will be no money to pay for all the grands schemes Green Labor waffles on about. Had another flyer from the sitting Labor member today: still nothing on China and defence, just more free stuff to be handed out. Cut out our biggest exports but still plenty of freebies. How will they be paid for? More taxes.
