Paul,
Toradoes are always with us, it’s just that these recent ones have hit built up areas, usually they go virtually unnoticed because of the distance between towns; sometimes the Bureau of Meteorology are the only people who know that they’ve occurred.

I was working out at Pokataroo many years ago when what the locals called a big Wllly Willy passed near the “town” it lifted a lot of small bits of dead timber etc., and could have been dangerous because of the debris it was hurling around; it was only considered a bit out of the ordinary because of it’s size, it left a swathe about 50 yards wide.

Hi Issy,
I recall the Willy Willy but it was in the arvo of a hot summer's day. That one was 10pm at night. They say large tornadoes are common in unpopulated Central Aust. Upset the Cuz in Bathurst and Orange 70 years and can't recall such an event.

Dear Paul,

I watched "The Insiders" this morning and it appears that
out PM is going to attend the Conference in Glasgow after
all. Also the Nationals will have to decide at their
meeting whether they will support the Coalition's aim
for zero emission by 2050. It seems that the pressure is
on both for the PM and the Nationals. Wonder what Barnaby
is going to do? Even the Queen has come on board. Although
Prince Charles was first!
