Australians have become frightened forelock tuggers, reliant on government telling them what they can do and what they cannot do. They will make excellent subjects of the Chinese Communist Party sometime in the future.

"Munchausen Syndrome" might be what all these Australians cheering on lockdowns and loss of freedoms are suffering from.

Nobody alive today has had any experience of a virus like covid19.
All who are in a position of authority are trying to guess what may
or may not happen.
So some we have put in power are having their best guess.
After it is all over an enquiry that has all the data may be able to
work out what would have worked better.

Dear Bazz,

I think you're right. We've never had anything like
this. It's global. And we need to deal with it as
best as we can. But the media also needs to stop
spreading the fear. It helps no one.

"Australians have a reputation for rugged individualism, grit and competence. But when it comes to the pandemic, we have seen another side to my country: insecure, anxious and frozen by the fear of death from Covid. A recent global poll found that Australians are more worried about the virus than any other western country. They have been scared witless by the hysteria of politicians, chief medical officers and the media."(Alexander Downer).

Like me and an apparent minority of freedom-loving Australians, Downer is amazed at how popular the EXTRAORDINARY restrictions on free movement have been. "They have been warmly welcomed by the Australian public"! How cringing and scaredy catty for the few cases we have.

I'm waiting for the uproar after the morons ruining the economy tell the scaredy cats how much paying off the debt is going to cost them.

Mark Latham suggests that the Australian people "need to reclaim their self-respect, to stop politicians from treating them like children."

Latham has also pointed out that, instead of establishing a National Cabinet, Scott Morrison could have used the constitutional quarantine powers of the Commonwealth to create an Australia-wide policy of open interstate borders and minimal lockdown periods. Instead, he empowered provincial leaders to put millions of people under house arrest in state-based health dictatorships.
