Dear JBowyer,
Absolute bollocks mate. Firstly Kristo was stirring up a politician who was suing his boss. That's it. He wasn't putting lives at danger. What I don't get is you far right wing types love authoritarian figure so why are you bleating on about Dan? This is how the Singaporians deal with the issue. "A British anti-masker has been detained in Singapore and faces up to six months in prison after a video appeared on Facebook of him riding a train without a face mask." http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/crime/yorkshire-anti-masker-faces-up-to-six-months-in-singapore-prison-after-riding-train-without-face-covering-3277019 Posted by SteeleRedux, Friday, 18 June 2021 11:04:57 PM

Thanks Steele,
Expect nothing less from Barilaro, trying to use the police state to protect himself from free speech. Corruption within the NSW government starts from the top down. Posted by Paul1405, Friday, 18 June 2021 11:13:00 PM

My understanding of this issue is that they two people at the Friendly Jordies have been arrested basically under stalking laws. The police act upon complaints- so it sounds like the Deputy Premier made a complaint- I understand that a writ can also be lodged through a JP limiting contact with threatened individuals- under threat of arrest. Any body can perhaps lodge such a writ- though I don't know of anyone that has done so.
Perhaps the police acted slightly differently given it was the Deputy Premier but not unwarranted sometimes the state police act in other capacities such as protective services roles. Paul1405 alluded to other incidents involving supposed misuse of power by the Deputy Premier I haven't heard much but it doesn't mean it didn't happen. I'm more concerned about the politicisation of the police in Victoria seemingly crossing the line set out in the Principle of Separation of Powers- though perhaps there isn't firm evidence of this as yet. The management of Corona in Victoria has been interesting, that Premier Andrews rejected Army management of the crisis, in favour of State Health. Wasn't it Andrews that allowed the BLM protests in the middle of a lockdown. It seems that Premier Andrews management has put additional pressure on Federal Social Security Funds to provide sustenance for Victorian people and economy due to the extended lockdowns. Perhaps these additional funds should come out of Victoria's GST payments. But the Liberals just want to get the Australian economy going again despite the incompetence of the Victorian Andrews Government. Personally I'm more of a Traditionalist than an Economic Liberal but I empathise with PM Scott Morrison and the extreme patience that has been required in the light of "Victorian Labor Far Left Andrews Incompetence" holding everyone in Australia hostage and dragging them down- a bloody minded political ploy. NSW should lock down the border more to stop the contamination of Victorian communism. Posted by Canem Malum, Saturday, 19 June 2021 6:14:22 AM

Hi CM,
A basic error in your argument; "It seems that Premier Andrews management has put additional pressure on Federal Social Security Funds to provide sustenance for Victorian people and economy due to the extended lockdowns. Perhaps these additional funds should come out of Victoria's GST payments." Well no, the State government is responsible for the support of business, whilst the Federal government is responsible for the support of the individual. As required the State supported business, but the Feds only provided additional support to workers in Melbourne for only one of the two weeks of this lockdown. As for the origins for the outbreak, it can be clearly traced back to a traveller returning to Victoria from South Australia. Are you concerned with the growing cluster in Sydney. There is evidence of lax control of movement between airport and hotel quarantine, a State government responsibility . NSW Health Minister Hazzard is the same bloke who waved the passengers off the 'Ruby Princess' through, resulting in 28 deaths from Covid. He dodged a bullet with that one. I was surprised by Berejiklian's attack the other day at a press conference on the slow roll-out saying; "another government is responsible etc etc". On Barilaro, he has been seen as a questionable quantity by the Federal Nationals, along with some of his state colleagues, and the state Liberals for sometime. Before the last federal election he expressed aspirations to move from NSW to Canberra, the Feds soon quashed that notion, quickly hanging out the "Not Welcome" sign to good old Barrel's. A chap goes on YouTube to tell any and all that his free speech has been shut down. Anyone else see the illogicality of that?
This use of police power to attack others and to try to punish opponents is of course to be lamented. Unfortunately its been going on for some time in plain view and each time it is used it becomes more accepted within society. Equally unfortunately, its only when one of their own suffers from this new trend that the left rouse themselves to complain. Use the legal system to go after Pell - no problem. Use the legal system to go after Porter - no problem. Use the legal system to go after Bolt - no problem. But go after someone on the left? "First they came for the ......"
