A bill to ban kangaroo products and curb the trade in kangaroo skins used by companies such as Nike and Adidas has been introduced into the US Congress with support from both parties. American animal rights groups argue the way kangaroos and their joeys are killed is inhumane. There are claims that the Australian National Code of Practice for the Humane Shooting of Kangaroos and Wallabies for Commercial Purposes is being ignored by weekend and amateur cowboys. There's no competency test for non-commercial shooters, who are also allowed to use shotguns, which raises further questions of inhumane treatment of Australia's iconic native animals. According to commercial hunter Glenn Cole; "But there's other people out there that won't shoot the animal in the head. And they leave the animal to suffer. I've seen evidence of that over the years." Unfortunately this is more evidence that Australia's lax gun laws need to be strengthened, and guns taken out of the hands of amateurs and so called recreational shooters.

Issy, no one said the amateur cowboys were selling hides to Nike etc. No, these cowboys are too busy causing a million animals a year to suffer inhumane deaths. Many of these butchers are counted in your 200,000 members of the cashed up SSAA. They help finance your anti gun control political party The Shooters and Hooters.

I am all for sustainable management of kangaroos by professional shooters, who like Glen Cole can humanely cull the population where numbers are excessive, and work to supply a viable local and export market. You may wish to tell me you support drunken yobbos running around the bush pretending to be Rambo indescribably blasting away at as many of our fury friends as possible, but I can't agree if that's your take on this. With the recent involvement of amateur shooters in child murders, and now the inhumane killing of millions of our wildlife, I think its time to bite the bullet and disarm all those who do not have a valid professional reason to own and use firearms, that's all of the recreational and so called sports shooting mob. Is that your mob Issy!

Just one little bit of evidence would help, but here you go again, accusing the law abiding.

I'm sure there is a psychological name for your apparent problem,
perhaps it's a Greens' thing as they have a record of attacking the lawful acting citizens and ignoring the criminals.

Did you make up the Coroner quotes?

And how about a reference or two to back up your assertions about the SSAA and the NRA, or are we to take them as just plain old lies?
