Paul,
What problem? Evidence please. Posted by Is Mise, Monday, 12 April 2021 9:57:08 AM

Paul you show your utter foolishness with this rubbish.
First a shot gun is utterly useless against kangaroos. They do not have the range when used with solid ammunition & can inflict nothing stronger than pin pricks at the range one can get to with roos. Then you try to give us some facts, & use the type of rubbish we all know is all that is produced by your ABC when it comes to anything but urban matters. Must do better on your report card. Continued.
Incidentally, just a couple of the pin holes shotgun pellet hits would inflect on a roo skin would render it worthless to the trade. Posted by Hasbeen, Monday, 12 April 2021 2:18:10 PM

Here's one ABC report, good for laughs at the rank ignorance of some who are quoted.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-04-08/us-ban-commercial-shooting-kangaroo-leather-football-boots/100050994 If there is widespread illegal shooting of 'roos why are there not a long list of prosecutions and confiscation of firearms? More 'roos are killed around here by collision with vehicles , with consequent endangering of human life, than are shot (legally or illegally). Where are the protests over road kill? Hassy,
Thankyou Gunga Din for your worthless piece of input. Issy, I do understand you have to toe the line as dictated by the NRA, your mob the SSAA being so beholding to that crack pot American organisation. Whenever the nasties of guns are highlighted you are instructed to claim "Nothing to see here" or "There's no problem here" and "Its all good here". Be it the barbaric slaughter of kangaroos or the murder of children, your stock in trade answer is always to deny any problem exists. Posted by Paul1405, Monday, 12 April 2021 10:20:43 PM

Now on a more serious note, can't you see that the actions of a number of amateur cowboys, so called recreational shooters, is jeopardising what should be a legitimate and sustainable industry. I watched the interview with Glen Cole on the ABC, Glen's no Greenie, he's a professional roo shooter supplying the trade. He is concerned for both the animals welfare, and his livelihood which is being jeopardised by a band of rank amateurs who are not part of the industry. The problem has got so serious it has extended to the US Congress.
Issy I'm not pissing in your pocket, but I actually like you and our little forum stoushes from time to time over guns, makes for interesting entertainment. You come across as a very responsible person with guns. I don't care what goes on behind closed doors down at the target range, as long as robust laws keeps it there and it doesn't spill out into the general community like it has in the USA. Unfortunately when it comes to so called recreational shooting some of your brethren are not so responsible in their actions and the results are clear. Simply put, do you think there are too many weekend cowboys with guns, and if so, what can be done to deal with the problem?
