There are some scholars who argue that capitalism will collapse in the face of continued anthropogenic global warming and adverse climate change and that socialism will be the only viable system in an overpopulated world of harsh environments and depleted natural resources.

Global warming, my arse! It's the middle of summer, and here in the driest state in Australia, it's cold and wet. The climate hysterics have nothing to say about the fact that the climate continues to do nothing that they said it would. Like the Catholic Church of the Middle Ages, the climate religionists threaten doom and gloom if the serfs don't toe the line. Well, the serfs are bit smarter these days, and they aren't listening to the 'by 2030', 'by 2050' crap from people who won't be in power, if they are even alive, in 20 or 30 years.

The planet is over-populated BECAUSE of 'Experts" & it's that what's causing pollution !
Climate change is too slow to measure for the silly experts to can't tell the difference between climate & pollution !

Putting aside your arguments against AGW, you still have to accept that the planet has been getting hotter over the past two centuries (for whatever reason) and that this warming is resulting in adverse climate change.

This is irrefutable. We are all witness to a planet getting hotter and weather patterns that are becoming more adverse. We see reports of it on our TV just about every night.

Even the leading opponents on AGW and climate change action such as Soot Morrison and Barnyard Joyce will accept the science on these two aspects. (But I think they resist taking action simply because they don't want to do anything about it).

Climate is always changing, not much we can do about that. What we can do but don't is to drastically curb polluting the planet with the by-products of too many people !
Birth control & a less frivolous way of life by consumers will have a positive impact but will it save wo/mankind ? hard to say. Some will survive & go on to becaome just like our silly generations & repeat all the mistakes all over again. Why ? Because "experts" will push themselves to the front as per usual to feather their own nests.
Just look at the tearing apart of the ozone layer, condoned by the experts.
