Hi Pete,

I'll take your advice.
Thanks.

The news from America is getting more and more depressing.
Actually, frightening. And it looks like the crazies are
out in full force. Scary stuff! And what's just as scary
are some of the responses on this forum. Right on cue
they're coming out of the woodwork with their "Kudos"
for some hateful and vile comments.
So sad because it encourages the troll-like behaviour
even more.

Ah well, No point in adding fuel to the
fire. See you on another discussion where hopefully
sanity not nastiness will prevail.

Enjoy your week-end. Take care.

You're supporting the ones who are burning cities to the ground, and killing people in the streets because of their race and political opinion, remember?

And you think you stand against "nastiness"?

What is wrong with you?

Why are you people so unhinged with hatred?

Dear mhaze,

You really are an utter distorter of the truth aren't you.

More sanctions on Russia?

Are you kidding me?

“Immediately upon entering the White House, Trump tried to lift Obama-era sanctions and return diplomatic compounds seized by the United States due to interference in the 2016 election. Months later, Congress drew up a bill to strengthen Russia sanctions and prevent Trump from lifting them. The administration lobbied hard against the legislation. When it passed with a veto-proof majority, Trump issued a statement expressing displeasure — and signaling that enforcement would be lax.”

“His administration has done exactly that. It delayed implementing the law and missed key deadlines, grudgingly conceding only after intervention by congressional leaders. Nervous tycoons scrambled to hire Washington lobbyists to keep themselves off a blacklist mandated by the law. But the Trump team made a mockery of the effort by merely copying and pasting from a Forbes list of Russian billionaires. That reassured the Kremlin that the sanctions would never be used as intended.”

You sir are a joke.

Dear Cumberland,

Calm the farm mate. You really are talking unhinged crap.

Democrats certainly support the 96% of BLM protests which have been peaceful. No cities have burnt to the ground, Democrats are not murdering people in the streets and you have drunk far too much of the koolaid to be making any sense.

Steele Redux seems to be projecting again. I'm skeptical as to his authority with respect to judgements of the unhinged.

SR

"You really are an utter distorter of the truth aren't you."

I've pointed out before that you can always tell when SR knows he's on thin ice when he puts his ad homs at the beginning of the post in the hope that it'll mask the lack of substance in the actual post.

Yes Trump did seek to reverse the post-election Obama sanctions. They were put in place by Obama not for foreign policy purposes, but for purely domestic purposes to try to give substance to the Russia collusion meme. It is doubtful he's have imposed these sanctions had Hill won.

Getting rid of those gratuitous sanctions was an early indication that the adults were back in charge.

But later in the administration, new and tougher sanctions were imposed by the US against Russia. eg after the Skripal attacks. Sanctions were also imposed on specific Russia businessmen and military figures by Trump.

But this quintessential SR. I list a bunch of things that show my point. He picks out one only, then picks out a small subset of that one item and declares victory. I said there were "More and growing sanctions against Russia." and there are. That some erroneous sanctions were lifted is by-the-by.

But SR won't understand and/or acknowledge that.
