The basic tenet of the progressive thinker is to seek ways to identify and then overcome injustices in society. All societies exhibit some discrimination leading to inequalities in one form or another, be it discrimination based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or some of the many other discriminatory practices that abound in society. Social disadvantage goes hand in hand With discrimination in limiting wealth distribution. The discriminated always have poorer outcomes in education, health, employment, housing etc. The disadvantaged lack the opportunities that are generally afforded most other members of society. The Progressive always argues the case in favour of the disadvantaged.

Proud Boy Jose'
Are you going to brand Salty a COMMUNISTS, just as you branded me such for speaking my mind. Well said Salty! A bloody thumbs up! I recall years ago when Ho Chi Minh was confronted by an interviewer with the proposition that poor little Vietnam, with no decent army, air force or navy, could not possibly win the war given the military might of America. He basically said to the interviewer; 'You are wrong, Vietnam will win, because the American people are weak, my people are strong, the Americans will give up, my people will never give up the struggle. Ho was proved to be right. I was once surprised by what a well known Communist said to me back in my much younger days, pointing out the difference between the Soviet Union and America; "The difference, the Soviets are full of BS, and they know it. Americans are full of BS, but they don't know it.' We had, had quite a few beers in the pub by that time. Posted by Paul1405, Monday, 5 October 2020 5:45:13 PM
