Sydney Morning Herald put it well 2 hours ago http://www.smh.com.au/world/north-america/trump-s-covid-19-diagnosis-throws-election-into-chaos-20201002-p561iy.html

[I've capitalised key points]

"Many Americans, especially those who dislike the President, will be dubious about the accuracy of the information that emerges from the White House in coming days given TRUMP'S PREDILECTION FOR FALSEHOODS.

It's shocking and upsetting for the President to contract the virus, but not necessarily surprising.

Since the earliest days of the pandemic, Trump and other members of his administration have taken a CAVALIER APPROACH TO THE PANDEMIC.

He said it WOULD "MIRACULOUSLY" DISAPPEAR AND COMPARED IT FAVOURABLY TO THE SEASONAL FLU.

HE SHUNNED MASK-WEARING FOR MONTHS AND RIDICULED HIS DEMOCRATIC OPPONENT BIDEN FOR WEARING ONE.

HE HELD PACKED RALLIES, some of them indoors, against the advice of health experts and local officials.

He SIDELINED TOP SCIENTISTS like Dr Anthony Fauci AND HYPED UP UNPROVEN MIRACLE CURES.

He questioned the usefulness of widespread testing on the grounds that MORE TESTS PRODUCE MORE CASES."

Hi individual

Thanks for replying. Yeah Garnering Sympathy Votes because Trump was behind?

Its US electoral tradition that Voters Rally Around The President During A Time of Crisis like this.

But they better rally from a long distance.

MORE TESTS PRODUCE MORE CASES."
plantagenet,
I was really surprised how many failed to get that even among the conservatives.

Hi individual

Interesting when Boris Johnson got COVID he almost died over one night.

Trump is 18 years older than Johnson and they're both overweight, increasing Covid impact.

RULES ON TRUMP'S DEATH OR DISABILITY

The 25th Amendment of the US Constitution is relevant to Trump's Covid. It provides guidance to Pence in case of Trump's death or disability.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty-fifth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

"The Twenty-fifth Amendment (Amendment XXV) to the United States Constitution deals with issues related to presidential succession and disability. It clarifies that the vice president becomes president (as opposed to acting president) if the president dies, resigns, or is removed from office; and establishes procedures for filling a vacancy in the office of the vice president and for responding to presidential disabilities."

ttbn,

I’m glad to see you have lost none of your ability to see the truth of things, since I’ve been absent from the good old, online opinion. You were often the only one who had it right,I remember on many of these online opinions.

JOSEPHUS and INDIVIDUAL were some who had insight, and Runner I think.

HASBEEN with his usual Scepticism of well spoken sleaze balls, is spot on about Joe Biden.

Not one word, of truth came out of Biden’s mouth.

Pres Trump said he made the decision that he had to challenge Joe as he said things, because “EVERYTHING” Joe was saying, was a lie and there’s no way he could have challenged him on all the lies coming out of his mouth, short of writing it down, if he’d waited.

I knew Joe was lying too. And if it wasn’t so long, I could tell you exactly why different things he said were lies. What I know that most on here seem to be frighteningly unaware of, through not paying enough attention. would take a whole essay to write.

AMERICA IS ON THE BRINK, of losing its Democracy. It’s not about Trump it’s about how the Democrats are tearing up the constitution, backed up by
a globalist, corporate, regime-style, news media, who won’t call them out on anything, or hold them accountable.

I watched a journalist from that media, who was being interviewed for a book,he had written about “How did Trump win the election?” He was surprised and puzzled about how Trump had managed to get around the powerful, elite, backed up by an even more powerful media.
He didn’t think it was possible for anyone to do.

Trump did it because he ran on his own money, and he had no powerful elites controlling him like a puppet. Plus he used the internet to speak directly to millions of voters everyday, to get around their news media lies and twisted stories.
FAKE NEWS he called it. Propaganda is the real name for it. Not truth.
