If we are to assume that the New York Times has 'faked' Trumpf's tax returns, all they have to do to prove their case if print off some of the thousands of pages, so that Trumpf can deny them and claim that they have been doctored, etc. He could then print off the 'true' documents, for the IRS to certify, IF they are genuine.

If the NYT stories are true, then Trumpf is most certainly a lousy businessman, no better than his grandfather was. How do you lose money owning casinos ? And if you're consistently losing money on golf courses around the world, wouldn't any sensible investor flog them off ASAP ?

$ 750 in taxes in 2016 and 2017. Wouldn't he have had to pay more in 2017 just in relation to his president's salary ? How much did he have to lose from his businesses, in order to pay only $ 750 for the year ? And why aren't they put in escrow while he is in public office ? A blind trust ?

Only 36 days to go (our time) :)

NYT's second instalment:

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/09/28/us/donald-trump-taxes-apprentice.html?campaign_id=60&emc=edit_na_20200928&instance_id=0&nl=breaking-news&ref=cta&regi_id=127104467&segment_id=39270&user_id=35fd54d942ac9b9e288ef933afd6d6f5

If the NYT has fabricated anything at all, i.e. 'fake news', then Trumnpf will have ample grounds for suing them. We'll see.

Hi Joe,

"If the NYT has fabricated anything at all, i.e. 'fake news', then Trumnpf will have ample grounds for suing them" I would be very surprised if the NYT had not checked, and rechecked, the authenticity of the documents. Nah, the real truth is Donald has paid tens of millions of dollars in tax, but he don't want ordinary Americans to know that, their piddling contributions of a few thousand a year might embarrass them. Donald is so considerate of other peoples feelings. Nah, taxpayers, another group of those "losers and suckers"!

Paul, obviously you have never been in Business, where you can minimise personal income Tax. Most Australians receive tax refunds at the end of a tax year. Trump did not receive the usual salary for being President, as it would mean he would have to pay tax on it. So he is not in his position as President for the money, he is there to represent Republican America to more Stable Moral norms. The Communists like yourself do not like it.

Difficult for a self-admitted "I grab them by the pussy" President to create "Stable Moral norms".

Jose', will you please provide evidence that I am Communists as you claim or withdraw the remark. Seems a number of you conservative posters are perpetuating that slur against me lately, all with its negative connotations.
