The flu is a coronavirus that is just as contagious and while generally far less lethal is known to kill athletes that over exert themselves. A flu vaccine while not 100% effective significantly reduces the risk to a rugby player vaccinated and those playing with him.

A player has the right not to be vaccinated, but similarly the other players have the right to be protected from him.
