"Sydney's world-renowned New Year's Eve fireworks would become a thing of the past under a proposal to illuminate the harbour using hundreds of drones instead.

The Sun-Herald can reveal the City of Sydney council will canvass the possibility of replacing the annual fireworks extravaganza with a drone light show, which are rapidly growing in popularity around the world."

A proposal that will be welcomed by all the local dog owners and all who are really interested in reducing pollution, every little bit helps.

I have never been able to understand how a society which can vilify a little tobacco smoke, & make it public enemy No 2, after CO2, can justify pumping into the air, hundreds of tons of carcinogens much worse than Tobacco, & inviting people to come & stand under this muck, with their kids & babies.

Hooray ! Common sense appears to be making a comeback ! Now, if we can convince those morons who release thousands of balloons, race cars, boats & planes & catch tonne upon tonne of fish for "fun" & "recreation" en masse, we might just be able to regain some normalcy !
The only thing wrong with all these activities is not the activity in itself, it's the limitless indulging that is the real problem.
We can enjoy ourselves but why does it need hour upon hour to race when it can be just as entertaining over two hours ? Or, be out on the water to relax & catch a feed on way, it doesn't need an esky full ? Fishing competitions are some of the most mindless activities man invented. Killing for entertainment !
This idiotic notion of "competition" is the prime stupidity of all !

I'm no fan of cracker nights, but even less of a fan of knee-jerking, PC lefty nutters who want to take the fun out of life for as many people as they can.

ttbn,
it doesn't look as knee jerking to me, just common sense sticking its head up on the horizon, again !
