Armchair Critic,
I'm puzzled that you're not aware that bombing & fireworks are a case of (for want of a more appropriate word) necessity vs frivolity !

The millions wasted on fireworks would be useful to build a miserable prison in the desert to lock up all involved who are ripping off older people in aged care nursing homes.

Get it right fellas, for political correctness, I thought we could have dyslexic left handed people of no particular gender dress up as firecrackers, and in a show of solidarity with the disposed peasants of Siberia silently go "BANG!" at the stroke of midnight.

We can all stand around and also silently go "BANG!", you guessed it, in a show of solidarity with dyslexic left handed people of no particular gender, and the disposed peasants of Siberia, I hope I have not left anyone out, as I want to be fully inclusive. where am I?

I wouldn't think ALL those bombs are necessary,
Maybe if they had a cracker night instead people might relax and get along.

Sydney council pays $6m p.a. for the fireworks which attracts about 1 million visitors and generates about $2bn in revenue for local businesses, pay for hospitality workers etc.

The mindless left whinge killjoys that want to replace this with drones will cost taxpayers a vast fortune to cut carbon emissions by a tiny amount.

You gotta love this misguided ideologue, our resident know-it-all, Know-nothing LIBERAL Shadow Minister. Shadow tells us;

"The mindless left whinge killjoys that want to replace this with drones will cost taxpayers a vast fortune to cut carbon emissions by a tiny amount."

WHAT ARE THE FACTS;

"At Monday's meeting, LIBERAL councillor Craig Chung will put up a motion for City of Sydney council staff to explore and report back on the feasibility of replacing the fireworks with a drone light show."

Tell us SM is LIBERAL councillor Craig Chung, the driver of this proposal, one of your mindless left whinge killjoys?

To describe what you say, the word nitwit springs to mind! This is the same guy who claimed about 3 years ago, hat an arrest in the 'Beat Up' Bolt put up job was imminent! When no such thing eventuated. This guy just gets everything wrong. Must be another ScumO' at work..... PITIFUL
