Dear Shadow Minister,

You said;

“Firstly I deliberately did not mention Trump to separate the act from the politics, but clearly you cannot.”

What an utterly stupid statement. Trump is the bloody commander in chief, indeed in rank higher than the man he had murdered. Trump didn't separate the rocket attacks in Northern Iraq which killed an American contractor from Soleimani, instead directly targeting him.

Soleimani's death is just another escalation of Trump's actions against Iran after dismantling the deal stuck by Obama.

Trump said of Obama; “In order to get elected, Obama will start a war with Iran." The fact that this has been Trump's thinking for nearly a decade and we are now in an election year tells its own story.

Your president is utterly venal and like a cornered rat is willing to exploit any potential escape route he can, and you are here cheering him on.

The decision to kill Soleimani's was Trump's alone. He was given a range of options by Pentagon officials but chose this path much to the dismay of said officials.

That decision sees the Iraqis calling for US troops to leave their country. They viewed Solemani as a pivotal figure in stopping ISIS after the collapse of the Iraqi forces in the face of their onslaught. The Iraqi militias he helped create were instrumental in pushing them back and protecting the rest of the country.

Here is Chomsky's take; http://truthout.org/articles/noam-chomsky-us-is-a-rogue-state-and-suleimanis-assassination-confirms-it/

Soleimani's killing lays the charge of 'rogue state' firmly at the US and it is hard to consider its action as anything but, except of course to the ultra sycophantic like yourself.

World War 111? It is the availability of equipment like drones and the selective killing method they provide that will prevent world-wide slaughter. World wars are a thing of the past. The war we are now fighting all the time does not entail mass killing. Your average Iranian wouldn't give a damn about the creature just taken out. The few lunatics yelling 'death to America' have been yelling that ever since they got rid of the Shah. And, the mad mullahs have been reminded that they can easily be popped off, too, without wholesale death and injury to ordinary Iranians whose lives they have made a misery.

Dear Shadow Minister,

Regarding your limp excuse that “sites important to Iran and Iranian culture does not necessarily mean cultural icons, it is just your fevered imagination”.

Well it seems it was part of your president's fevered imagination too. It seems he has pulled away from such action given the uproar. There is bloody obvious to all but the most blinkered that he intended to take out cultural icons but for now the adults have prevailed. Even so he is making excuse for why he thought it ws a good idea in the first place. Your president is a child.

“WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump backed off a threat Tuesday to target Iranian cultural sites if Tehran retaliates for a drone strike that killed its top military general last week.
During an Oval Office meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Trump said the administration is "supposed to be very careful with [Iran's] cultural heritage."

"And you know what, if that's what the law is, I like to obey the law," he said. "But think of it: They kill our people, they blow up our people, and then we have to be very gentle with their cultural institutions”.

Well what do you know.

SR & his like want us to keep rolling over, & over & over, until we finally get stabbed in our defenseless belly. Typical of the fools who won't defend themselves until too late.

Strong nations rise & grow stronger & dominate, by design or accident, but fail & fall as they grow soft & weak. WW11 would never have happened if the British & French had the guts of their earlier years, & had stopped Hitler as it became obvious he was dangerous.

The mad Ayatollah is no different. He & his mates don't want a nuclear bomb so they can be nice friendly fellows. It is a bit too late to wonder why we didn't take them out earlier when a dirty bomb goes off in Sydney or New York.

It is a big nasty world out there, & only those prepared to be just as nasty when necessary will survive. Pity so many free loading doves have to be carried along as useless ballast by the doers.

Nope, too much oil & gas resources tied up in Iran, Iraq & Syria for this to become anything more than a few old dogs peeing on telegraph poles, albeit with a bit better aim thanks to drone technology. The one bastard who seems to be perpetually kissed on his lower abdominal protuberance and the one most deserving of a drone visit (Al Assad) seems to be the puppet of Putin, Trump & Erdogan, treading a path so far immune from prosecution. I wonder when his day will come? So too I wonder when his usefulness will expire and the wrath of his God will descend. The wild card will be the Hezbollah crew, along with the last vestiges of Daesh, Al Qaida & the few Lone Wolves with a point to prove.

I hope that Iraq tells the US to leave.
The Iranians practise cousin marriage so there is not much point in
trying to negotiate with them. It is at the heart of their difficulties
with the Sunnis also. 1400 years later they still cannot agree on who
should have succeeded Mohammad.
Democracy requires a population with an average IQ around 100
otherwise voting will be eratic and subject to the likes of the Ayatollahs.
The rest of the world should retreat from the middle east and return
the middle east refugees back to their countries of origin.
If that does not happen the average IQ in western countries will fall
to about 70.
If you think that is no problem then why is the Middle East such a mess ?
