Paul1405, Must be right he got his info from the dailymail, same one he says is full of rubbish.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6732387/China-mocks-Australians-concerns-decision-block-Australian-imports-mineral.html China mocks Australians concerns over the decision to block Australian imports of the mineral - after the dollar plunged China has responded to reports of an indefinite ban on Australian coal imports by mocking concerns over the decision and saying it's 'normal practice'. A major Chinese port has reportedly banned imports of Australian coal amid tensions between the two nations over cyber-security and control in the Pacific. In addition to the ban, customs at China's northern Dalian port will cap overall 2019 imports through its harbours at 12 million tonnes. China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said customs assesses the quality of imported coal, analyses possible risks and examines it in accordance to laws and regulations. Dear paul1405,
Sorry mate but have to call you out on this one I'm afraid. You wrote; "That sure showed em', so Scum O' thought. As if China would be greatly perturbed by anything Australia done. Well blow me down the Chinese have band Australian coal ships from entering China. Shock horror, Morrison and co are in a spin, the Aussie dollar is in free fall, coal exports are shot, jobs are going, its a catastrophic situation. Oh my god what are we going to do as Morrison and co run around like chooks without their heads!" Why are you lamenting a reduction in Australia exporting a CO2 intensive fuel source? While Australia looks like romping in the Paris targets due to farseeing State governments our exports are not counted. I get it that giving the other side a black eye is always alluring but perhaps prefacing it with some context might be a good idea. Posted by SteeleRedux, Saturday, 23 February 2019 8:59:17 PM

Yes Steele, the truth is out the Red Chinese are really the Green Chinese and Lee Rhiannon is actually Xi Jinping in drag. And now we've got ships loads of coal everywhere, yep ships loads. Just this evening I tried to roast a couple of very dead rather putrid Murray Cod the Minister for the Environment Melissa Price sent me, in my electric oven by burning 20kgs of coal. Somewhat without success! The fire brigade arrived to douse the flames!
Scum O' has plan B. We have ships loads of dead fish from the Murray-Darling sitting off the coast of China, right now, waiting for the Chinese to come out and buy em'. Scum O' hopes to convince them to make ships loads of Sweet and Sour Fish with a side of Fried Coal. This will create 1.3 billion job in Australia over the next 3 years in the Aussie fish gutting industry should Scum O' and the gang be returned at the next election. The new slogan is 'Fish and Coal Together Creates Jobs!' He may even bring a lump of it into the Parliament for the members to try. p/s Scum O' is always thinking of new and innovative ways to use Aussie coal. Steele have you picked up one of those very sheikh Coal Door Stoppers. How about a lump of Pet Coal for you, a variation on the pet rock idea. No, Scum O's on the job! Coal-Poms-Bathtubs, just thinking out loud. Posted by Paul1405, Saturday, 23 February 2019 10:15:46 PM

"So mhaze the fall in the Aussie dollar had nothing to do with the Chinese putting a hold on Australian coal. "
Well no, the fall had everything to do with the scare over the delayed shipments. No one's denying that. But that's entirely beside the point. You asserted, without the slightest evidence or even attempt at showing evidence, that the delay was due to our decision to exclude Chinese companies from the 5G network. I showed that that was not the case. Sooooo, having been shown to have, yet again, gone down the garden path, you now try to change the subject. Dill or dishonest - its hard to decide. The small fall in the dollar was caused by the delayed shipments. But the delayed shipments were caused by factors very different to what you asserted. mhaze, the opinion of a vested interest namely BHP chief executive Andrew Mackenzie, carries little weight. "he did not believe it was political". Should we care what Mackenzie believes or don't believe.
// But the delayed shipments were caused by factors very different to what you asserted.// Where is your evidence? Are you a dill or dishonest its hard to decide. What I do know you are one of the useful idiots who hangs off every word of this incompetent government. Posted by Paul1405, Sunday, 24 February 2019 8:53:51 AM

News Flash; Australia needs Chinese trade far more than China needs to trade with Australia. There is a World oversupply of coal, China's domestic production of coal is way up, and frankly China could tell Australia to stick their coal where the sun don't shine, and it wouldn't cause them a problem.
