I think the discussion on the accused person should just stop. There will be a trial with evidence before a jury and they can decide. All these heart felt comments will not change anything of this terrible story.

That's what I'm afraid of. So many of them have failed us in the past that we really can't take any comfort in their decisions anymore.

Individual I suggest you visit our Law Courts. I find it very instructive personally. I have seen Magistrates and Judges giving very good judgements and juries paying attention. Juries hear the whole case and are properly directed by a judge. I think we can both leave this in the hands of our fellow citizens sitting on juries.
Now if you had said about our vile media with their partisan views then I would have certainly agreed with you. To find a more self-centred, vacuous bunch of illiterate bimbo's and himbo's you would really have to search.

I agree, I participate in threads for one reason only & that is to offer a different view with the view that some ideas could possibly sway people to change their views or ways for the betterment of our society. Far too many disagree with trying to instil a different mentality because it may impact in a miniscule way as they may have to turn their greed dial back a notch or two. It seems to me that too many Australians are not interested in the welfare of this Nation, only how much they can make from it. An extremely unhealthy & poor mentality indeed. We have seen what it did to our manufacturing industry & our standard of higher education. Oh yeah, everyone's a patriot at the slightest criticism but ask them to do their bit for the Nation than the ugly head of greed appears over the fence. Not actually having a culture is probably one of the drivers. The rejection of a National Service is the strongest indicator. As a 20 year old Codey Herrmann should have been in some National Service facility & fast asleep from the day's activities instead of on the streets as are too many others. I bet the civil libertarians will fight tooth & nail to prevent on disciplining the young & vulnerable & so the dreadful situation will deteriorate further.
