Hey ttbn,
When people spoke of a blue wave recently, I told them it was propaganda. The #WalkAway movement seems to be evidence that many have turned away from the Democratic Party, for a number of different reasons. - All of them reasonable - I added some links in a previous comment, but I'll add some more now as well. Previous links http://youtu.be/iJFDs8KlY2E http://youtu.be/wnnBEr-7-Rk http://youtu.be/r7dyXPR3e-A http://youtu.be/SUkQ8pWk6EA http://youtu.be/oG6JqmdIubA It's refreshing to see people coming to their senses and thinking for themselves. I listened to the Trump / Putin media conference a short while ago, what's important is the focus Trump again put on Imran Awan and the DNC server, which I've mentioned numerous times in the last 2years. http://youtu.be/H_hWuI5KnSA Posted by Armchair Critic, Tuesday, 17 July 2018 11:41:25 AM

Dear AC,
You wrote; “It's refreshing to see people coming to their senses and thinking for themselves.” Well no, they are thinking OF themselves. The primary reason for the shift in sentiment appears to be one of tax cuts putting more in the pay packet so the Republicans are deemed to be better economic managers, something certainly not supported by history. Therefore they are not 'coming to their senses' at all. Posted by SteeleRedux, Tuesday, 17 July 2018 11:41:34 PM

It's a huge joke to see AcidReflux pontificating on 'sense'.

SR,
You have the knack for oversimplification. More money in the pocket is always a vote winner, but there is much more to it than that. The reason that there is "white flight" from the democratic party is that the Democrats have essentially abandoned their base which is the blue collar worker in pursuit of more esoteric left whinge ideals such as identity politics and the Republicans have swung to the fundamentalist Christians leaving a vast swathe of Americans largely unrepresented. That Trump's support has been increasing over the last few months in spite of his boorishness and frequent blunders that confuses and angers the intelligentsia. The simple thing is that the working man is prepared to overlook Trump's faults as long as they get what they want. Posted by Shadow Minister, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 6:01:47 PM

Can't help wondering what effect will Trump's Helsinki
appearance have on Americans? Will they still support him or will they be wearing hats with the acronym ITMFA (IMPEACH THE MOTHER -F** - R ALREADY!). Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 6:20:23 PM

All class Foxy showing who the true deplorables are. You must be so proud of yourself.

runner,
I didn't make up the ITMFA acronym old chap. Google it for yourself. They've got hats, t-shirts, and other items of clothing in the US currently. They're very, very, popular over there at the moment - especially after the Helsinki fiasco. Not only the Democrats but the Republicans are baying for Trump's impeachment and wondering what does Putin have on him? Interesting times ahead. Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 8:28:36 PM

runner,
Are you serious? Why do I have to do with anything? Do you really not understand the consequences of Trump's actions Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 10:15:27 PM

Trump did ok in Helsinki, then he got back to the US and blew it.
- This covers my thoughts on that - http://youtu.be/rugbKX1hloE There was more going on in that Trump Putin media address if you know what to look for. Putin mentioned Bill Browder (associated with Hillary Clinton) and made a specific point of giving him the World Cup ball and saying the ball is in your court. I heard Meuller dropped charges against some Russians too. BS to manipulate the public from the start. Normally I'd laugh at the shirts and hats Foxy, but it's all probably paid for by Soros, so I sigh instead. Posted by Armchair Critic, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 10:31:32 PM

You wanna know something really weird I heard about?
There's a book called 'The Last President', written in 1900 by Inglestadt something-or-other. It's about a young boy named Barron Trump who comes from a wealthy upbringing and has a mentor named Don. I haven't looked it up yet but it seems curious. Posted by Armchair Critic, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 10:37:52 PM

Donald Trump had a sound background in business and in negotiation. In contrast, the last president, Obama, had no achievements at all. This appeared recently:
“A major political party (put) forward a candidate for presidential office with almost nothing in the way of significant achievement, either personally or in some field of endeavour. Normally presidents are those who have gained experience in some real area of life and are a proven quantity, whether it be winning a world war (like Eisenhower) or reaching significant political office, such as a governorship (like Carter or Bush). Obama had nothing to offer other than rhetoric and some books, and the results show for themselves”. Posted by ttbn, Thursday, 19 July 2018 12:09:50 PM

Foxy,
Ever since Trump was elected there has been a movement to impeach him which more an indictment of the left whinge delusion than on Trump. To impeach him you will need: 1 clear evidence of a breach of criminal law, 2 a 50% +1 majority in Congress and 3 a 60% supermajority in the Senate. After more than a year there no indication of any collusion between Trump and the Russians to influence the elections, and although the investigation has not closed, the chances of any breakthrough are fading fast. Secondly, although there are Republicans condemning Trump when push comes to shove, none of them is going to vote to impeach him without clear evidence of severe wrongdoing and the chances of the Democrats getting a supermajority is bugger all. Politics is so in the US is so bonkers these days that even if you could meet the first condition, Republicans still wouldn't vote for the impeachment - better a known crook than a Democrat. Ok things seem to be getting serious.
http://youtu.be/A4qIpzZOTaU (2 minutes in on X22 report) One of the radio shows I regularly listen to 'What Really Happened' with Mike Rivero has for several years asked the question; 'Was Hillary doing a repeat of her Chinagate scandal; selling secrets to foreign powers using her private servers to deliver the secrets and her non-profit organisation to launder the payments.' One summary of the poll suggests that also contributing to a shift to the Republicans is the childish behaviour of the Democrats who clearly have not come to terms with their loss two years after the event. Tales of Russian meddling are of no interest to the average voter, and nobody but the Left believes their own stories about Donald Trump being a fascist and all the other juvenile names they mock him with. All the insults to white men; the divisive identity politics etc, are all actively alienating young white men. Much of this rubbish was what saw Donald Trump being elected in the first place.
The infantile behaviour of Trump-haters will continue for another two years up to the next election, and even more voters will be fed up with it. Given what Donald Trump has achieved in two years, he is looking very good for a second term.
