misanthrope,

Foxy did not endorse what I said. What she did was inform me that she was unaware of your penchant for attacking me so viciously and unprovoked, and noted (in a round-about way) that my otherwise-out-of-character response to you made a little more sense once she was made aware of your past behaviour.

By the way, my provoked response to your unprovoked attack on me was so obviously absurd that it completely detracted from any seriousness or offensiveness that could reasonably be taken from it.

Lighten up.

You persistently attack me with absolutely no provocation whatsoever. In fact, the only reason you ever comment nowadays is to attack me. No one here deserves that kind of treatment from anyone. You have developed an unhealthy obsession with me, and despite my polite requests that you justify, or at least explain, your horrendous and downright psychotic tirades, you never do.

You obviously have some serious mental health issues that require professional help. But I will no longer excuse your actions or turn the other cheek because of that. Attack me, and I will hit back. Enough is enough.

By the way, if ttbn is going to behave like an ass, then people may point that out. There is nothing unfair about that and it’s easily avoidable.

ttbn,
Do not discourage O Sung Wu, he writes well and factual. I am sure many respect his views.

I will keep on posting even though there is no hope of changing Steeles views. I recall Graham Young once telling us that a lot more people read OLO than actually post here.. So there is a good chance that others may be influenced.

o sung wu,
Your example of a terrorist attack on common people is most concerning. Also of huge concern is the rape and sexual harassment of our females. Examples are everywhere in Europe, not to mention pack rapes in Sydney, 2000. The police got some but not all. Females have become the sacrificial lambs in this diversity of cultures that those like Steele claim we need. Foxy and Steele seem to accept that is the price we have to pay for diversity. They offer no way of changing alien culture.

Dear Is Mise,

Speaking about depth and substance...

The poet Sanober Khan wrote:

"depth and substance
the two most exquisite qualities
be it in a poem
or a person."

You see what I mean, misanthrope? More insults and no reasoning to justify any of them.

Do you even know why it is that you say what it is that you say anymore? I mean, what’s this stuff about me being a “cry baby”, or a know-it-all? I don’t remember ever sulking about anything; and the more I learn, the more I realise I don’t know. So, the “know-it-all” accusation is clearly made up.

Or perhaps I once explained to you why you were wrong on a particular point and you didn’t take to it very well?

What is it that I did or said in the past that gave you the idea that such remarks were justified, I wonder? You don’t even know, do you? You just ramble in your usual disturbed and disjointed manner because your thoughts are so fragmented now that none of them even make any sense to you anymore.

But I think we've disrupted this discussion enough for one day, don't you? Let us go outside for a while, take it the deep breaths, remove it the big angers, and feel big enjoys. What you think, Albania?

Tingellon bukur?

Dear Banjo,

Talking about "alien culture"...

Simon Tatz wrote an article in The Drum, 27th Nov. 2015
that is worth Googling.

He tells us that "Muslim and Jewish refugees share a
similar experience in Australia... You can't "assimilate"
when you're constantly being reminded that you're something
"other". The rhetoric is - they don't assimilate, their
religion is incompatible, their beliefs don't accord with
ours, some refugees may be terrorists ..."

Tatz states that very similar language was used about the Jews
during WWII when Western Nations refused to accept Jewish
refugees fleeing the Holocaust. Today we are witnessing similar
fears and phobias with calls for Syrian refugees to be refused
entry and presumably to face a similar fate at the hands of
Islamic State. Tatz says the question shouldn't be whether
Muslims or Jews integrate. It's whether people of different
religions, races, and ethnicity are allowed to become "Australian".

Australians like to think of themselves as egalitarian, and the
land of the fair go, but for some it obviously is more of a
fantasy than reality. For some Tatz points out the reality is
that people who are different - look different, dress different,
speak different, and practice different religious rites and
customs - are constantly being reminded of their "otherness".

You can't assimilate or integrate when your "otherness" is always
being used as a point of differentiation.

Today it is Muslims who are being told they are not "Australian"
that their religion, politics, history, and beliefs do not accord
with mainstream Australian society. Tatz says that in a rewriting
of history, some people point to post WWII refugees, who they
feel apparently adapted better.

But the refugees who fled the horrors of Europe were according
to Tatz also victims of vilification, prejudice, and distrust.
Tatz tells us they were also refused refugee status. He reminds
us - how the Allied Nations infamously turned back boats full of
Jewish refugees while the British not just stopped boatloads
of Holocaust survivors headed for Palestine/Israel, they
actually returned Jewish boat people to then recently liberated
concentration camps in Europe to die.
