Foxy - Quote "We receive more public holidays than any one else."
You are so wrong with that statement. Please do your homework before such a erroneous statement Posted by Philip S, Wednesday, 11 May 2016 6:18:01 PM

Dear Phillip S.,
My statement that "We receive more holidays than anyone else," referred to Victoria. Which I should have made clearer. (I was in a hurry). My apologies. The following link explains: http://www.huffingtonpost.com.au/2015/08/23/australia-public-holidays_n_8028896.html Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 11 May 2016 6:44:41 PM

We meaning everyone, lives in a global world, the in Australia would have been better as I know quite a few countries get more holidays than Australia.

Public holiday? Nah...I think it's a great day to visit and send wishes but let us not be too dramatic

There are too many holidays crammed into part of the year.
Labor Day could be dispensed with. It is all left wing union politics. A day of drunkenness for the CFMEU and other union heavyweights that have no affection for the public, nor concern for community good, anyhow. There is far more observance and support for Mothers Day. It could easily become Mothers and Families Day, in recognition of the essential bonds and glue (and all of the unpaid work and volunteering) that hold our society together and make things work. As a quirky thought, imagine a Fathers Day Public Holiday in feminist dominated, politically correct Oz. It would be one of those Simpsons 'Whacking Days', with men as the targets. Although with the present fathers day we are practically there already. No dad wants fathers day retained. Posted by onthebeach, Thursday, 12 May 2016 12:48:08 PM

October thanks to previous Premier Campbell Newman, but reversed by that rigid left fool Palaszczuk. There are too many holidays in a short time and workers need their holidays spread.
