At first I thought that it was a joke, but then reading further, KRudd has been using his wife's wealth to schmooze diplomats all over the world for his bid, but is still waiting for endorsement from the Australian government.

My personal opinion is that KRudd would be a severe embarrassment to Australia in this position and that Turnbull should nominate someone else that could really do this job. Ideas?

The UN is such a joke Kev would probably go quite well. He managed to squander a large deficit and stuff Australia's economy in such a short time. I am not sure he hates Israel enough to qualify although he did make a very quick change on the 'gay' marriage and gw issues when he thought his support was slipping. Maybe Malcolm might do the country a favour and apply for the job.

SM,
As a tree, the UN is beyond pruning.

It needs pulling and the sooner the better.

A new planting is needed, but select the species.

Dear Shadow Minister,

Whether our current Prime Minister appoints this
former PM as UN Secretary General is the question.

His background is impeccable.

Bachelor's Degree in Asian Studies from the Australian
National University in Canberra. Speaks fluent Mandarin.
Has wide experience with a diplomatic career in embassies
in Stockholm and Beijing. Held positions with the
Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Was the Shadow
Minister for Foreign Affairs. Was a national leader -
Prime Minister. So he's used to dealing with politicians
and world leaders on a global scale. He's experienced
and would not embarrass Australia. There's few who can
match his qualifications and experience.

Still it's up to the current PM.

Yep that's what the UN needs.

A totally incompetent fool, with a huge ego & dreams of grandeur.

Still I don't suppose he would be very much worse than either of the last 2, just more objectionable to us, because we know what a self serving rat he is. A lot like Turnbull actually, they probably like each other.

That other useless twit Fraser also had dreams of getting the job. What is it about UN Secretary General job, that attracts the most incompetent people on earth.

Rudd would be almost as embarrassing as Abbott would be in any post involving representing Australia.

Both these blokes have a problem controlling their tempers when things don't go their way, so we need to keep them out of the public eye.
Even their own political parties threw them out!
