With the best part of 100 billion in debt, they certainly need a change.

*Still, after the debacle of the last six years, nearly 50% will still vote Labor, so what hope is there?*
And what alternative? Posted by Robert LePage, Tuesday, 10 June 2014 9:50:12 AM

My youngest, told me after the election she had voted for Palmer, because he was a successful businessman, & we need businessmen to run the place.
She has recently told me she did not know what a d##k head the man was, until he started talking after the election. I think there is a fair chance he might have a shorter run than the Democrats. Posted by Hasbeen, Tuesday, 10 June 2014 1:01:13 PM

Dear Banjo,
I didn't see the program on Channel 7 with the Mike Willesee interview although of course I've heard and read about it. From what I've heard and read though, I don't think that the interview will do much damage to the Palmer United Party. The people who would vote for Clive Palmer and his Party I suspect would vote for precisely the sort of unpolished politician - that Ricky Muir presented on TV. Somebody that the average person could identify with - somebody who didn't have all the glib answers. A hard-working family man - who would understand them and the "real" world. Having said that though, I'm sure that Mr Palmer will take this lesson on board - and better prepare his team for future interviews. The Palmer United Party is just starting out in politics and it will be interesting to see how far they'll get, and how long they will last. It should also be remembered that during the last election - there was a Liberal candidate who had a few stumbles when being interviewed on TV - with his inability to answer questions as well. It all depends on what happens next for Palmer. But I wouldn't write the Party off just yet. Things can change in politics overnight. And at present cracks are appearing with the disgruntlement of people with both sides of politics. Neither side is doing too well. As John Howard made clear at the National Press Club recently - voters will not accept things that they consider to be unfair. And Mr Howard was spot on with that. Dear Banjo,
Here's the incident I was referring to in my earlier post: http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/federal-election-2013/liberal-candidates-meltdown-no-surprise-to-tony-abbott-20130806-2rb5a.html Posted by Foxy, Tuesday, 10 June 2014 3:14:52 PM
