Given the Patriot Act initiated by George Bush, the National Defence Authorisation Act initiated by Obama, the illegal invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, Vietnam, etc how have these wars made the people of this planet more free and democratic ? Is war inevitable just because we are too stupid and spineless to question authority ?

There is an element of true in what you say. But the world was created with wars. So there has been no change, and no particular race are any more war mongering than the other.
Disputes are inevitable, that is why we have the UN. When all else fails we have war. How long is the world going to persist with chit chat with N Korea, it is obviously not working.

While kids still have punch-ups in the school playground, adults will continue to fight, & we will have wars.

I bet even as we speak there are people who rule thinking about ways they can "remove" some of the worlds excessive population. War has always been their genocide of choice and I am sure it is well in the running this time.
China, Russia/Ukraine, The middle East, Iran. All likely places our "leaders" can use as "enemies out to destroy our way of life" and justify another in a long line of wars and killing.
With the new drones and robosoldiers, total surveillance and spying, and the massive concentration of wealth and control we are all in line for subjugation, deprivation, slavery and death.
