To revoke their last increase is to revoke the parliamentarians last increase.
579,
I wouldn't mind getting a public service union official's view on that & also one from the AWU.
Perhaps our OLO economic experts could give us figures if revoking the payrise would be sufficient to do away with the proposed new tax.

Info from
https://au.news.yahoo.com/a/23426739/budget-2014-fuel-excise-to-increase-twice-a-year-in-line-with-inflation/

Quote "For Mr Abbott, who earns about $500,000, the pay freeze could cost him an estimated $12,175.

The secretary of his department, Ian Watt, will take a bigger hit, missing out on a $42,000 raise."

Working on that ratio that puts Ian Whites salary at present at $1,724,846. (one and three quarter million dollars per year)

Sure he will feel the same monetary pain as a pensioner.

Philip S,
This is criminal, it must not be allowed to continue. We need to start pushing for a referendum on how much of our tax dollars they can get their hands on. Not only to we need a freeze, we need to take away some of what they're already getting. The PM should be the highest paid public servant & 300 grand is more than enough. Especially considering the money these people cost us after they leave office & are of even less use to us.
Surely, there are some shifty lawyers who could find a loop hole in public service salaries & start nailing some of these rorters or rather thieves.

The latest 457 visa count is 111,800 there has been a big increase in the last two months. That is at the point of being exploited. Why do we need so many. We can,t employ the world.

'We can,t employ the world. '

probably the first time I have ever agreed with 579. Even more so we can't put all the world on the dole as Labour was, by encouraging all the illegal entries. Thankfully that has stopped.
