I have constantly said that public servants should not be allowed to vote full stop !
And, if we had a non-military national service those who have served will be way more enlightened voters than those who only went to Uni.

Here in NSW, I take more interest at the political going on's at the Corruption Inquiry that what happening in the Federal or State Parliament. This week down at the ICAC we have had a couple of ex-primers giving evidence, try to paint themselves as the "good guys" in all this, and for this weeks finale we have had that Eddie Obeid look alike, Liberal Senator, and mate of Abbott's, Arthur Sinodinos, giving evidence. Foxy spoke of his $200,000 pay for 26 hours work.this is not disputed by Sinodinos, a man you would find, whilst accepting this pop star pay rate, being opposed to a 37c/hour pay rise some of the poorest members of the community.
Some people in politics, like Sinodinos, harbor a grotesque sense of entitlement, and this can and does extend to criminality, as it did for Labor's Obeid, Macdonald, and Thomson, not to mention other Liberal and Labor politicians in the state who shortly may get their comeuppance before that very same inquiring body. I always warn people if you vote Labor or Liberal don't always expect to get who you are voting for, you might vote for Jesus but get the Devil.

If you want to stack the deck why allow politicians a vote. Or known Greens

I have come to the conclusion that only 2 people in Australia should be allowed to vote, Tony Abbott and Mrs Abbott. Hummmmm... that wouldn't work, another hung parliament, the Mad Monk on one side of the chamber and Mrs Abbott's choice on the other, most likely Electricity Bill!
