G'day there ONTHEBEACH...

My wife and I go for a walk (a short walk) occasionally in the park, avoiding where possible those ladies with children stuffing themselves with Maccas products ? Often without ever seeing a football or a cricket bat, or any other instrument necessary for the active participation in a sport ?

I suppose any reference I've made, apropos the world and this country being 'stuffed', should've been viewed, figuratively or allegorically, rather then that of substantive fact !

The appearance of the ol' black canine, comes and goes without any forewarning or announcement. Still, we all have a our crosses to bare, and I shall continue to bare mine, in silence !

Thanks for your response ONTHEBEACH, I very much appreciate it.

And afternoon to you to STEELEREDUX...

Regrettably, I'm neither skilled nor sufficiently adroit, in matters of counselling. Therefore it's with good luck that any dialogue I was attempting with Johan, was merely an exchange of differing insights, rather then any unsolicited advice. Most of the ideas and suggestions that Johan 'bounces' off me, are so esoteric in nature, I can rarely grasp the full import of what he's saying, nor understand the data he's attempting to convey.

As I'm sure you'd agree STEELEREDUX, ONE UNDER GOD is an extremely intelligent bloke, with a curious turn of phrase. It's my understanding that he's got so much information that he wishes to impart, he muddies the waters a bit, by not slowing down enough, to ensure he types his material in a much clearer and simpler manner.

Also, thank you for the link your provided, of the 1950's LSD experiment, conducted in the United States. Again, my mind still retains a firm NO, negative, zilch ! Thank you anyway.

Hi there ONE UNDER GOD...

Thank you once more Johan, for your continued kindness and empathy. Believe me when I say, I really appreciate it ! Take care my friend, and stop 'baiting' those humourless coppers eh ? They can't laugh about themselves, so you don't have any hope I reckon ? :-)

o sung wu,

No need to suffer in silence. Absolutely not where so many people care, but do not know how to help someone with depression. Speak up.

If you enjoy sport, become a supporter of one of the local sporting teams. You don't have to sign up, just turn up, no cost. Watching junior sports, for example the AFL juniors, is a most enjoyable weekend pastime. Many have a website and fixtures at other clubs offer excursions if you have a car. Sport as it should be enjoyed.

Hi there ONTHEBEACH...

Thank you so much for your very supportive words, indeed I really appreciate them ! Actually, I'm travelling reasonably OK at the moment, with the process of keeping busy with my hobby (Numismatics), and undertaking chores my lovely wife 'kindly' allocates, for me to do ?

I guess by ensuring you have plenty to occupy your mind, the ol' black dog can barely get a look in - that's the theory of it anyway ? Actually ONTHEBEACH I do enjoy sport, particularly Cricket and Rugby League, I was a former player about a 'hundred years' ago ? Shamefully I'm a dedicated fully paid-up 'couch potato' now, therefore I can get very excited from the comfort and safety of my recliner ?

Another of my peculiar interests is firearms ? Purely from an engineering perspective. Yet I no longer possess any type of weapon, though I still have a current licence, and that would enable me to acquire one if I so wished, go figure ?

The age old conundrum, why men love their guns, and appear to be almost inseparable from them ? Yet I was required to carry one of the damn things for almost 32 years ? Why is it then, I and many other like minded individuals, still maintain an unmistakable enthusiasm, for analysing and exploring different firearms ? By evaluating and surveying their merits and comparing them with similar makes, as well as distinguishing any apparent deficiencies, either in manufacturing or performance in the field ? An engaging enigma for far greater minds then mine, to try and figure out ?

I really appreciate your kindness, with your several suggestions of how to neutralize this wretched depression. Once it grabs you, it's jolly hard to shake it off ? But shake it off I shall, in fact I must, if for no other reason, then for my dear wife and our family.

Goodnight ONTHEBEACH, and thank you again !

o sung wu,

Some of our most competitive shooters internationally are women.

Just two exampples, Laetisha Scanlan (Berwick, VIC) and Catherine Skinner (Mansfield, VIC) won gold and silver in the women’s trap shooting at the World Cup event in Al-Ain, UAE.

Laetisha,
