Paul,

I would say it is a little early to indulge in your favourite Russian beverage.

Wobbles,

You love to deliberately take things out of context, and don't seem to be bothered by how stupid it makes you look. The deals that Abbott referred to was clearly obtaining government by vote swapping agreement. This never included day to day legislation, or getting a cup of coffee.

Epic fail. Try again.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott's much-touted "first 100 days of action" for his "no surprises, no excuses" government will run out on Boxing Day. As a result the Coalition has its work cut out in the run-up to Christmas. In the 84 days since Abbott and his cabinet were sworn in, they have struggled to find a positive vision for the nation, let alone explain it.
When decisions have been made, many have been underwhelming, confusing or embarrassing. For all the rhetoric about the dire state of the federal budget and the evils of debt, Australia now has no debt ceiling thanks to a deal between Treasurer Joe Hockey and the Greens. It was the correct decision but getting there betrayed an air of hypocrisy.
The same can be said about the 11th-hour reconversion to a stripped-back, unclear version of the Gonski reforms. At least they were decisions.
On other pressing problems there has been a worrying tendency towards misplaced masterful inaction. Prevarication is dogging the necessary decision to keep Qantas in local hands. If Abbott accepts that the national carrier is a special case requiring support, as the Herald does, he must say so now. If not, he must have the courage to explain why and manage the consequences.

579 and all my fellow travelers let us first look at the level of insults aimed at us.
Shadow Minister is not usually as sharp and yes bitter as he has recently become.
We can learn much from those insults and from SM the key defender of the Tory,s here.
Yes Abbott,s start, and his intended path is like an unset jelly, very wobbly and unsure.
Mid term is the place to look for.
And I feel much of the sharp posts is from folk who like us, see a disturbing lack of action in Abbott,s first months.
We, followers of a party that took its self out of government ,should understand others seem likely to do just that too.

Belly,

If I said that Shorten was raping puppies, I would not expect replies such as "no Bill is not raping puppies" but get howls of outrage that I was making rubbish up to smear Shorten.

What wobbles and other left whingers are doing is exactly the same. If any one wants a serious debate, put forward an opinion with some support. Making stuff up, or saying that so and so is an idiot is school yard stuff, and deserves to be treated with contempt.

579,

For a moment I thought you had at last posted some serious opinion, but got suspicious of the level of english, googled it and found that it was cut and pasted from a fairfax opinion piece.

Sigh!

This SM bloke is really struggling to come to terms with what has happened. Comparing Abbott with a dog now. He has lost it.
Tony was the one that was not going to deal with minor parties, so what has he done, exactly what he said he would not do. So what does that make that lot, a bunch of collective liars.
