A bit scrambled, but I'll try. I do see both sides, but what I see is frightening. Indonesia has Australia by the b@lls with our trade links. They say, " You give us AID & gifts (bribes for the top people) & we'll keep buying from you. If you don't we'll cut off you trade access & you'll be stuffed."

I follow no Party & I brand all things as I see them, regardless. All sides have their good & bad points. As far as knowledge & understanding goes, having lived intimately with the people in parts of Sth. East Asia, I have a reasonable understanding of how their minds works & they will rip you off as fast as they can. Bargaining is their way of life. They bargain for everything, Even for the morning cuppa at the local food stall on wheels. Australians don't do that as a way of life so we are behind the 8 ball when it comes to bargaining. There are 3 prices in Sth. East Asia. Local price, (really cheap) foreigners that live there & can speak the language (about 2/3ds more) & tourists price (ripped of big time) To the Indo's, Australia is treated as a Tourist. They think of it like a sport & have a great time ripping off the Tourist.
