Interesting comments, I prefer to look at history with open eyes and remain neutral. Every race, religion and people are guilty of killing those who refuse to bow the knee. All have shown 'no mercy' in their purging of the 'enemy'. Australia killed/murdered many 'nationals' to settle here. That was British colonial rule practised for centuries and continues today in the form of banking and world policies. Christianity 'today', in it's true form, is to help nurture, protect, defend and love all people regardless of origin, religion, behaviour etc, with unconditional love toward all people. Islam 'today' has one motive, to force all people to convert to Islam or die. There is plenty of evidence to prove this claim. This is the most intolerant 'religion' today. There is no compromise. We should not be making deals with Islam or passing laws to give Islam rights in Australia. There a a number of Islamic reformers from the Middle East, who want to see changes made. They state, however, that this is unlikely to happen when the high priests of political correctness in the west support certain practices occurring in refusing to acknowledge these, let alone condemn them. These reformers go on to observe that this condemns their people to ongoing misery. One likened this to the old attitude of "the white man's burden".

We have greatly benefitted from our reformers of the past. None would deny that. It is a great shame that we can't look with clear eyes at the inhumanity of certain practices and support those who want change.
