Saltpetre I am surprised.

I thought you had been here long enough to realise Poirot is the mistress & commander of the unpleasant snipe around here.

I can't ever remember her "appropriately addressing the issue and the substance" on any subject, can you?

I can understand how her constant nastiness could get up some other folks nose, & draw replies in kind.

I personally tried to engage her in conversation on a number of topics, before giving up to avoid further waste of time. I wouldn't worry too much about OTB. He will soon realise there is a hole in the barrel, & no matter how much he pours into it, the result will still be an empty vessel.

Saltpetre,

'Old Tin of fruit' is of 1920's origin and is quite appropriate for Poirot, who would likely have used the phrase himself, it being so common in his time.

Hasbeen, "He will soon realise there is a hole in the barrel, & no matter how much he pours into it, the result will still be an empty vessel"

LOL. Gently chaffing the menagerie of passive-aggressives, obsessive compulsives and of course not forgetting the odd narcissist for their daily ritual of disrupting threads to get attention, is not such a bad thing.

You are right, one does tire of it, It is a fair assumption that others have given up in exasperation in the past and left. The coarseness, rough behaviour and the foul language and images are enough to put most off.

otb,

"LOL. Gently chaffing the menagerie of passive-aggressives, obsessive compulsives and of course not forgetting the odd narcissist for their daily ritual of disrupting threads to get attention, is not such a bad thing."

Well, double LOL!...you overrate yourself, Mr beach.

Most of us don't fall for your faux outrage.

They are merely an excuse for you to put the boot in, while simultaneously pretending to uphold petty moralities.

Sorry if you think my interrupting and swatting your twisting and distorting other poster's views is "disruptive" to your copy.

I'm sure you'd rather be allowed to splatter your confected blather up and down the forum with no interruption at all.

But Poirot thinks it's rather bad form to garner attention and kudos by misrepresenting others' views.

Hasbeen,

You usually post in a most provocative and often odious manner.

You obviously don't like it when someone responds with equal vehemence in the opposite vein.

That's what happens on opinion forums.

Of course you are much larger than life Poirot, and your habit of referring to yourself in the third person is interesting. Your use of 'us', too.

The subject of the thread, what was it now?

otb,

Well, ho, ho, ho....

Now that I've called you out once again - you say:

"The subject of the thread, what was it now?"

Here's what you were spouting in your previous post:

........

"Hasbeen, "He will soon realise there is a hole in the barrel, & no matter how much he pours into it, the result will still be an empty vessel"

The coarseness, rough behaviour and the foul language and images are enough to put most off."

.......

So the upshot is that otb can meander all over the place until his target responds to him.

And then......

He responds by attempting to suggest that same target is posting off topic.

Pathetic.....
