PLEASE, some respect for our lying and conniving Prime Minister. She is coming to the realization that the father she loved has been taken away from her forever,in the same way as the nation we had pre Labor has also passed away and will never return.
So she engenders some empathy from me, as I am mourning a nation sold into debt by that same now grieving liar, and there are 22 million residents to grieve for Gillard when your done with your personal issues, not to mention the not yet born who will definitely be paying back your fiscal and social legacy to our country. And before you give me the mantle of heartless swine, may I remind you: "DON'T GIVE THE PENSIONERS A PAY RISE, THEY DON'T VOTE FOR US ANYWAY"...Julia Gillard. Good onya H I have been afraid to tell my story.
But as a four year old a little red headed girl mugged me! On my way to school she took my lunch money and threw me over a fence. May well have been Julia, she sure was mad. SOG! congrats, it took guts being an Abbott fan to call ANY ONE else a lier! Just before he lies you can tell, his lips begin to move. Posted by Belly, Monday, 10 September 2012 5:22:35 PM

Belly I keep telling you china, I do not have a team, I decide on polling day. If Labor turned it around and flew right I would not change a winning trend, but that aint gunna happen with the line up they have, is it?

Oh, the shame of it all!
A secret I had intended to take with me to the grave… But Belly's honesty and forthrightness has moved me to confession. That little redheaded girl who mugged you? It wasn't Julia – it was me. Sorry about that – the fence bit was unnecessary I admit. I may have also cut down a cherry tree… Not really sure, it's all a bit of a haze as I was mainlining Ritalin at the time. Not voluntarily, mind you. But the foster home had leased me out to one of the pharmaceutical drug cartels as a test subject – apparently little bunny rabbits were in short supply that year – and besides that, the trustees of the work-house had to make the payments to the New World Order 'representative', RJ someone or other… Or else! So they needed the money. Now, if anyone asks me who said Phoney Abbott's a motherkicker I can say it was Houellebecq. (The above contains one lie, one mis-statement, one bit of spin and one truth.) Sonofgloin,
Was that alleged but unsourced cabinet leak about the pension from before or after the Rudd Government granted a historic increase in the Aged Pension in 2010? Strange that she was also allegedly opposed to paid maternity leave yet later introduced such a scheme herself. I suppose the alternative unstable and fundamentally dishonest sociopath will do very much better, but make sure he puts it in writing first. Posted by wobbles, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 1:13:29 AM

The threads humor is on display. The silly ness in Parliament that lead to it is of more interest. The link digs, in my view in to the man, and in my view apart from his start with the DLP, is no evidence of wrong. Silly? why look back in to the past to find it. It is on display every day. Feed back continues to inform me, I am betraying the ALP! How silly is it to see again and again your horse in the lead and its jockey, good morning Julia, turning around to sit back to front? Being told by the fence sitters we can do it girl hit its head! Wobbs, un sourced but obviously not incorrect or libelous.
JULIA GILLARD privately argued against the generosity of two of the Rudd government's major increases in welfare payments. In public, Ms Gillard has been happy to share credit for the decisions to give more cash for age pensions and parental leave. But in the inner sanctum of the government, she tried to cut the size of the pension rise and wanted to kill the idea of paid parental leave altogether, telling cabinet colleagues it was being pursued because it was politically correct, according to figures familiar with the debates. As deputy prime minister, Ms Gillard argued that a big rise in the age pension was excessive because ''old people never vote for us'', the sources said. How the comments on OLO have deteriorated to an absurd level. If this is an example of attempts at satire, I am not surprised that some of the more serious and level headed contributors have dropped out. Almost every time I log on to this site it makes me wonder why I even bother. I am obviously out of step with what ails this country if this is good cross section of the public intelligence.
I await your disparagement with interest ! Posted by snake, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 9:09:21 AM

So sorry snake, it is now clear.

<<How the comments on OLO have deteriorated to an absurd level.>>
Well, I thought it was very well done Houellebecq. It is sad that some are so bridled with propriety that they can’t see the humour. The only bone I have to pick is with that big fibber WmTrevor. Were me and my bettest friend Wayney Swan who walloped you Belly. Wayne told me that that day was your pocket money day –even in those days he had a nose for money. So we put on our mums red wigs and waylaid you. The money kept us in milkybars for a week. That was my one and only money grabbing venture. But Wayne went on to get a job as federal treasurer and now makes a habit of robbing people of their pocket money. Posted by SPQR, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 12:32:35 PM

Sometimes it's important to try and laugh – it's better than osteo carcinoma…
"I await your disparagement with interest !" Do you want that, snake? Would you really enjoy it – a whole lot? Would it make you want to crack a flat screen? I reckon I'm onto your masochistic game… and this little sadist says, keep a-waiting. Posted by WmTrevor, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 1:24:29 PM

Sorry blokes the little girl was named Carol.
From an Irish Catholic family. I had a crush on her. She had one on me, just before she threw me over the fence, with my pocket money in her hands. Her brother could all fight. I like to kid myself she could beat them too. Posted by Belly, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 5:41:02 PM

With his tongue lodged firmly in his cheek
Houellebecq tries to expose the vanity and hypocrisy of the nongs we're forced to vote for. This thread is designed to be equally offensive to all parties and it's cool to get the low-down on the low-life in Canberra. Shades of "Yes Minister." My interpretation of Houlley's post was a satirical mocking of 'the revelation'.
That is, the media's preoccupation with getting the dirt on anyone in public life even if it was many years ago. Whether Tony Abbott punched a wall when he was a young man is really irrelevant today, perhaps only pointing to a tendency to temper. I would rather the media concentrate on policies and driving ideologies (albeit a bit thin on the ground). If we were all held to account until our dying day for mistakes made in our youth there would not be any of us untainted? Does anyone want a silly mistake to forever follow into adulthood when one has learned, matured and moved on. Without mistakes there is no opportunity to become a better person. Apart from criminal activity and heinous crimes, the past doesn't matter in the political context these titillations are revealed. Posted by pelican, Thursday, 13 September 2012 10:34:09 AM

I am in the position of being in the know about some events, that when they come to light, will have a devastating effect on the credibility of both leaders and will more than likely result in an election.
The details are so sensitive that it would have been considered beyond the pale to even bring them up, but the holder of the information has apparently had enough and will release the details this week.
But you fellow OLOated will get hear it here first!
It goes back to events just 52 years ago, when Tony Abbott was but a boy of just under 3 years old. Apparently he, wait for it, pissed his pants!, and when questioned about it, he denied it, blaming the wet pants on a splash from the boats a Indonesian boy was playing with nearby, and then became aggressive and kicked another mother from the mother's group in the shins.
Juilar Gillard's excitement about this damaging revelation will be short lived, when it is exposed that just 48 years ago, she was involved in the corrupt swindle of a lollipop from her sister, but when her sister attempted to retrieve the lollipop, she claimed, falsely, and maliciously, that the lollipop was in fact hers, causing her sister to get a smack. This is considered one of the earliest indicators of the nature of juliar!
