have you visited planet Earth lately? Or are you in the same dimension as that idiot, Tim Flannery? Posted by Austin Powerless, Friday, 24 August 2012 4:39:31 PM

The carbon tax will and is destroying our economy. The mining boom is coming to an end.If you think that a great new big tax is going to solve anything, then there is no future for any of us.
In a really big 1930's style depression, not even having a job in the Public Service will help you.It will suffer drastic cuts also and you won't have the skills or the work ethic to survive in the real world of private enterprise. Posted by Arjay, Friday, 24 August 2012 5:13:35 PM

Well, Arjay,
Did you listen to the governor of the Reserve Bank this morning? Probably not or a few facts might have ruined your perfectly preposterous theory. Point to one, just one indicator that our economy isn't doing well. Can't? Didn't think so. As for the mining boom, you are obviously confused about terminology. Yes, this period of absurdly high and unmanageable investment is coming to an end. However, the many, many mines currently operating successfully - and highly profitably - will continue to do so, in many cases for decades. Yes, commodity prices will be a bit lower than in the past, but that's because in the recent past, iron ore prices have been unusually high. The Australian economy is doing well and will continue to do so for some time yet. Ideally the economy will come off a little bit with the fall in commodity prices, however that will help exports as the dollar eases. Also, a small slow down in INVESTMENT, (Note: not ongoing production, but investment), will mean that Australians, via the eminently sensible MRRT will be able to enjoy the benefits of the 'Mining Boom' for at least another two decades. Arjay, your comments are always so incredibly negative. I don't know if maybe you are depressed, but here's a worthwhile axiom: Nothing is ever as good as we think it will be and nothing is ever as bad as we think it will be. Stick with that and you will a) be a bit less fearful and b) enjoy better mental and physical health. There is a great deal of good in the world, my friend. You just have to open your mind to the possibilities. There has never been a better time for ordinary Australians to make money; never a better time to be alive. The Aussie stock market has risen by 7.5% in the last two months. Blue chip stocks are still paying excellent dividends. It's a wonderful time to be alive and playing in the big game. So, for goodness sake, Cheer up. Anthony http://www.observationpoint.com.au Posted by Anthonyve, Friday, 24 August 2012 5:44:43 PM

Anthonyve, did you know that our banking system is loaded with $15 trillion of derivatives, which is 13 times our GDP? They too have been sucked in by the casino economy which the really powerful forces like George Soros and the private US Federal Reserve can implode at will.
They can drive us all into abject poverty with the click of a computer mouse. This is why China and Russia formed the BRICS tading block and are developing a new currency to save their economies. Notice how China and Russia have been demonised recently? Posted by Arjay, Friday, 24 August 2012 8:46:32 PM

As the truth emerges we can only hope those falling victim to the power and moneys lies can remember we remember their words.
