On the 6th July Obama signed another Presidental Edict giving himself control of all communications in the USA.

With the litany of signing orders excluding Congress from any input,we see a taking away of basic human rights in the USA that is extremely alarming.

I wonder what will happen when they vote him out.

Will he go quietly, or make another executive order, giving himself extended powers?

He really is a bit of work.

It looks like you're in luck, Arjay… Since it begins with, "By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

[Paragraph 1 ending with] The views of all levels of government, the private and nonprofit sectors, and the public must inform the development of national security and emergency preparedness (NS/EP) communications policies, programs, and capabilities."

Since you're a public you have the chance to inform him about the development of the Assignment of National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Functions.

You might even get a mention in the NS/EP Communications Executive Committee minutes.

We can learn from this.
First that some folk will believe anything.
Second that some will find comfort in the words of some they would never look to for advice if they think they have the same view on some thing.
We too can learn this man is to be reelected , without doubt.
And that the sky is not falling, America not becoming a dictatorship.

Wm Trevor, you know little of the US Constitution.Congress is supposed to vote on a new bill submitted and if passed, the President signs it into law.

Obama is making up hs own bills and signing them into law.Obama has sined into law, Preventative Detention,Legalised the Assassination of suspected terrorists,National Defence Authorisation Act where by the Military can arrest anyone in the West and do what they like with them with no trial or legal representation. Now Obama takes control of all communications.

If alarm bells are not ringing in the West then we are all morons to have faith in any Govt that acts in such a manner.

Hasbeen,Mitt Romney will be no better than Obama. He has been sighted by 4 people at the recent Bilderberg meeting.Romney will be more likely to go to war with Iran.

The possible next false flag attacks will be London Olympics, Syria now been accused of getting Sarin Gas ready,US Enterprise Carrier that will cost $ billion to decommission,Seers Towers in the USA.

So if you want a nuke war, just keep your heads in the sand.

Arjay,

"...Mitt Romney....has been sighted by 4 people at the recent Bilderberg meeting...."

4 people?....must have been a very small meeting.

Or are you intimating that he snuck in the back door disguised as Mae West and that "the 4 people" were clever enough to discover his ruse?

"Wm Trevor, you know little of the US Constitution."

That's quite true, Arjay… and if it's a competition about who knows how little of the US Constitution you'd win.

But since it's about an executive order regarding the assignment of national security and emergency preparedness communications functions – not a bill – it's a different question entirely.

Plus, of course, I've read it and you obviously haven't otherwise, near the end, you would have noticed in Section 7:

"(d) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:
(i) the authority granted by law to an agency, or the head thereof; or
(ii) the functions of the Director of the OMB relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.
(e) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations."

And that's before we consider your claim that, "Now Obama takes control of all communications" despite the fact that the executive order doesn't and that he hasn't.

Congratulations, by the way, on "Obama has sined into law…" Amusing and creative.

Just as an aside America really is on the way to becoming a single party state, Obama will most likely win the election but even if Romney does succeed he'll be the last Republican president of the U.S...ever.
It's down to the racial makeup of their society, the Democrats get basically all the non White votes and about 30% of the White working class vote, the Republicans have nothing to offer non Whites and with Whites becoming the minority in a few years even with a 100% White vote they still couldn't carry an election.

Been a bad week in the middle east and lands of SOME Muslims.
A woman shot dead because her husband SAID she was an adulterers.
Men, if you insist on calling them that, openly saying women should always OBEY their men.
Elected governments get told they must not actually rule/govern?
Arjay your selective blindness is at least, amusing.

Imagine if Julia Gillard passed bill that gave control of all media to her and the Labor Party. There would a national outcry. Gillard and Labor are trying to gag the media on the lies of Global Warming the the C02 tax.

Notice that none of this has been reported in the Western Corp Media. You will only find it in the alternative media or Russia Today.

This demonstrates how suppressed our media is.It should be the biggest story on every front page. You lot who think you live in democracy are fools.

Arjay, I read that link you gave and all it does is enable the
executive branch to do what the ACMA always has been able to do here
at times of emergency.

Nothing new there at all.
Every government has ultimate control of the spectrum.

Even I once had control for a few days of a small slice of that
spectrum under powers delegated by ACMA and NSW Emergency Management.
So much so that someone who defied an instruction from me could have
been arrested if I had so requested the senior police officer.

So you see there is nothing all that new or unique in Obama's order.
The FCC has always had that power, it has just been reorganised and updated.

Enjoy.

And do try to calm down for a while. All this stress and paranoia can't be good for your health.

Arjay,

Your single minded obsession with painting the US as the bogey man is tiresome. If you read the link you posted, it does not mean that an authoritarian dictator has seized control of all communication, rather that because during a disaster every tom, dick and harry feels the need to phone everyone else, that the networks fail and emergency services are compromised. That the government has put in place measures to temporarily make these services available on a priority basis to police, ambulances etc.

Just as when there is a road accident, motorists inconvenienced by emergency services blocking off the scene of the accident, does not mean military rule is in force.

The latest but greatest I came across recently was fear mongering with "Obamacare" regarding "a chip" that "will be implanted in every US citizen". Turns out, if they took the time to actually read the act it goes on about how a device (electrical medical appliance) needs to be registered under the act. Many have assumed ... or actually made an effort to misinform which is more likely the case ... this is an RFID implant. It isn't. It's simply that doctors need to register the tools of their trade.

Yanks are insane.

I think for the first time ever I can echo what the Shadow Minister said. They did that here in the Brisbane Valley during the floods last year. They limited who could use it, for obvious reasons. Emergency services need access more than anyone during an emergency. Fair enough.

StG, because of the way the General Discussion Index displays you may not have noticed OLO's modest little discussion at the end of March on the subject of mandated RFID chip implants…. Obama was apparently involved there too.

I've no doubt you would find it a most interesting and entertaining read.

Whee!

Someday you'll learn how to not take yourself so seriously. In the meantime, I suspect others will instinctively try to show you how it's done.

Arjay,

"My Detractors Are Morons"

A great title for a book.

Why don't you write one?

I admit that at first I was confused about…

"My detractors are morons. They see nothing, know nothing and are incapable of logical thought processes."

And then I realised that this is probably another one of your Baldrick-style cunning plans to test us.

My analysis is: The statement as presented demonstrates a post hoc, ergo propter hoc argumentative fallacy in reasoning.

Was that it? Did I get it right? Is there a prize?

That'd be fun. Whee!

Arjay, has always, thought those of us who disagree with him are Morons.
Yet maybe that is the nature of humanity.
No not leg pulling, we seem hard wired to disagree.
To put value on our own opinions and less on those of others.
I think, just maybe, those of us who AT LEAST consider the others views before rejecting them.
May hold better supported belief.
Just look, truly look, at the Climate change debate.
Each side often slanders the other [me too!]
Yet no more important debate could be found.
Either we are being conned.
Or we face deaths, destruction, and massive population shifts.
Arjay has opinions on that subject too.

A little paranoia is healthy. Keeps us from getting killed and allows us to carry on unhindered in our illicit schemes .... jokes.

A lot of paranoia is a mental illness. I'm glad there's people out there asking questions.. I'm not glad there's people out with a default answer and then creating evidence. That annoys me.

Arjay, I know this won't make a BIT of difference because you've got your mind set to a default setting. I know plenty like you. It's good to ask questions, but it's bad to believe EVERYTHING that comes out of the mind of the mentally ill. Conspiracies exist. The government (everyone's) lie to us and tell us half truths. We all know this. They have to in some instances and in other instances we need people to expose them. But believing everything is a conspiracy makes it a joke.

Arjay, my suggestion (at risk of making myself a moron) is that you read more widely. Almost all of your links come from what may be considered 'reactionary' sources. Additionally, almost all of your links come from sources heavily laden with opinion. I know it's difficult to find impartial sources in our mass media, but it's worth digging around. Credit yourself with a bit of intelligence and an ability to think critically. Read the acts, executive orders, proclamations etc. for yourself and form your own opinions - preferably BEFORE going to the usual suspects.

Here's a good place to start:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/07/06/executive-order-assignment-national-security-and-emergency-preparedness-

If you come to the same conclusion as RT, then so be it. But at least you're sharing your own opinion, rather than one fed to you by an 'analyst' with his own axe to grind.
