Why do the policital parties & the Media not get the truth from the average Australian. When will a new policital party emerge that gets back to Australian Fundimentals (perhaps a good name for a party), we once had the Australian Democrats to keep the bastards honest, but now we have nothing. can they not see that we do not want the labour party, we do not want the LNP, and no we dont want the greens or a bunch of independants. Our legal system is in taters, our boarders are open to free loaders, (why is it we have to pay their cost and they don't have to pay it back, our kids have to pay it back when they go to Uni). Come on Australia if they will not find a qualified leader with some Australian fundimentals & philosophy's lets tell the politicians we can not vote because no one has met the criteria in the job description

I totally share your concerns wanderer-001.
I wish that this mob would gain a huge following and become a political force to be reckoned with: http://www.populationparty.org.au/ Posted by Ludwig, Tuesday, 3 April 2012 8:10:23 AM

Wanderer-101, I’m a long time poster on OLO and we haven’t yet crossed swords. That said I have no issue with this thread and so, seemingly, neither does Ludwig. Now that is a statement of bi-partisanship. Congratulations.
I think you really hit the nail on the head when you said, “Why do the political parties & the Media not get the truth from the average Australian”. The significant and almost Freudian point here is the link between the political parties and the media. Why would there be a link if there was no partisanship? Media partisanship is, IMHO, one of the main reasons why the Government is in so much deep doo-doo. Australians are a nation of “intuitors”. Perhaps our convict background, European heritage, republican origins or just tall poppy syndrome? Regardless of the reasons, we are hard wired against spin, bull dust and most of all, being patronized. So why, in spite of our heritage and background, do our current crop of politicians still feel they can ignore what it is that makes us Australian? Could it be that it is our politicians who have become un-Australian? It is the MSM in MHO, which is primarily responsible for the mess that JG and the ALP find themselves in. They are the advocates that promote that which Australians are opposed to. Your post has evoked all that is contradictory in Australian politics today. At this stage at least, you offer no solutions, just the raw questions that seem to be foremost in electoral consciousness at this point in time. I trust that OLO’ers do the justice and honesty that you thread deserves. Congratulations. Posted by spindoc, Tuesday, 3 April 2012 3:43:58 PM

No such party, and there have been many, has made it.
Include the greens and Democrats, greens are about to see the costs of miss use of power. No party, from any base, can win government with the thoughts wishes ideas of it supporters alone driving it. There is the problem with hung Parliament politics, and too with minority's haveing too much power. I would be unsurprised if voters put their first choice followed by the other side. Say Labor Prefferencing Liberals, to restore majority government. Not for further complicate it by giving birth to yet another party of self interest. Sorry wanderer-001, I gave you 100 more than specified at wanderer-101.
Perhaps another Freudian slip on my part? Your post is really worth 101 rather than 001? Don't spoil it by being loose with your responses. You have OLO'ers on a string, don't let them off the hook. Posted by spindoc, Tuesday, 3 April 2012 4:10:39 PM
