This question is one for us too.
Why do we except this country being the private property of a family of slave owners.
Why is China not moving on this starving country.
Or the UN.
Is the UN charter of human rights just for some.
Are we, humanity unconcerned at the mass death by starvation, the blackness of whole generations never knowing about freedom and the real world.
Is China,s wish to have a border other than its own with those it trades with Worth a whole country's suffering?
What we, each of us, threw in the rubbish bin during Christmas would be a feast for so many in this country.
Are only some humans worthy of our concerns.
Why Afghanistan/Iraq but not North Korea?

What is the purpose for the existence of the United Nations?
Why go to war in Iraq Afghanistan but avoid North Korea.
While we left it late to get involved in the Balkans and Rwanda we did, finally act.
People are eating grass seeds, dieing in the streets.
A pumped up murderer rules as lord master God.
Will the west ever be told what great wall stops us freeing and feeding these poor folk.
Or is humanity a sham?

Dear Belly,

The United Nations provides a forum for
world opinion and a mechanism for conflict
resolution. There is also a body of
international law that specifies the rights
and obligations that nations have toward one
another particularly with respect to aggression.

However a major difficulty with international
peacemaking, of course, is that compliance with
the resolutions of the United Nations and the
rulings of its World Court are voluntary, for
no country is willing to surrender its sovereignty
to an international body.

The United Nations is most effective, in fact,
when superpowers are able to agree on a course of
action and mobilize their blocs to support it.
Therefore, the organisation does provide an
influential forum for world opinion, and, while
it does not always prevent war, it surely does
help make it less likely.

All true Lexi, let us look back to its formation.
The reasons and dreams it gave a world looking for much better, it has failed us and its creators.
Power of veto, minority's once again standing in the way of real change turns it in to a fantasy.
I look for better, not just from the fraud, any thought the UN is about United Nations, yet.
And us.
We must act in a united way, a self interested unity, to stop any human being owned, starving, or held in slavery.
If the United Nations can not do this let us leave it to die, and find some other way that gets us of the spectators bench's while folk die.

Belly,
Shades of Labor & ALP.
People left the UN because they couldn't stand the bureaucratic self-serving instead of serving those in need.
