Its not often I hand out gold medals, but Yabbies post wins it. Unemployment is getting worse, overpopulation as far as the point yabbies handed out, is going to be our curse, as more and more hard-working Australians get neglected. We ARE FULL! chances are when 2 million plus refo's leave there own sinking ship, this country will be broke.
Change the system!, before its to late. 23 million and counting, and some are wondering where your Son's and Daughters are going to make a living...... Wake up Australia! and stop being so stupid. Its the dole line....that's where your childrens futures are already at. She'll be right mate!....... No it wont. Like I always say, have a nice day. cactus. Things should get interesting now as the U.N. has declined to become involved in setting up centres in either PNG or Nauru.

Cactus! congratulations on both posts.
The simple truth is this, Gillard, while in my view a failure, can not be blamed for a courts ruling. Or for being unhappy with it, Australia is unhappy with it. This morning a poll said 10% favored on shore processing,57% said send them all home. If only but not possible. Bazz, this morning has the UNHCR saying it, as a result of this ruling, will have nothing to do with any offshore process. Here like it or not are the truths. People smugglers and those questionable refugees, who can pay to break ranks with those long term refugees in Malaysia are the winners. Most Australians want them stopped. ONLY commitment from both major party's TOGETHER PUTTING A LAW/PLAN in place. Circumvent the greens and independents. And stop a thousand boats coming hundreds drowning, and our hight court sponsoring every arrival and every death. Posted by Belly, Friday, 2 September 2011 6:44:40 AM

Sung Wu said;
who does run the country ? The High Court of Australia, or the Parliament ? It is not the parliament's action that the court judged but the government's action. This where the separation of powers gets into the act. Parliament, Government, Courts. It is this separation that gives the public protection from illegal government actions. at the risk of repeating myself, again and again, at what point do we say, enough is enough!

Ah, how easy it is to pontificate from the cheap seats!
I heard an interesting radio discussion today, where a Hazara Afghan
who arrived here 10 years ago, told his story. According to him,
tribal and religious conflict remains in Afghanistan, Hazaras
are being persecuted for both, being Shia rather then Sunni and
Hazaras, rather then Pashtuns. They make up around 10% of the
population and are looking for a place to go.
According to our "moral responsibility", according to the Geneva
Convention, we'd really have to take the lot. Thats around
2 million, just from Afghanistan.
Perhaps its time to review the Geneva Convention. Its 60 years out
of date and the fortune which we are spending, to pretend to comply
with it is a headache for taxpayers as well as both parties.
It would be wonderful if just for once, both major parties could
work together on this, for its not a problem that is about to go
away.
