Very interesting post Mrs Piper.
<< …my first thought was #$%@ it we’re all dead. >> << In the years since whenever I think about it I pretty much come up with the same response. It’s similar to when I think about cricket, the baby bonus, and my violent when drunk neighbour >> I can understand that sort response to your drunk neighbour, sort of understand it for the despicable baby bonus. But for cricket?? ( :>/ Or am I misinterpreting something here? Posted by Ludwig, Wednesday, 24 November 2010 6:34:38 PM

Aw Ludwig now there is a can of worms aka how my thoughts work.
Sports, movies, music etc and how the elite in those fields are well known, famous. The people running the world, thinking about the world, or improving the world are ignored, uncelebrated. Not here on OLO I don’t believe but in general, so anything big happens and I think %$#! it. And I am in a bad mood… foster parents on another site are advising me to shoosh and play the game so that local department stops this ignoring me campaign that has been running for 10 months now. Which is more a “%$#! It I’m dead” because I can’t back down and be happy with being me. So how come 2012 is the year things will go bad? """
Odd nutcase regimes like North Korea and the conflict that they are likely to cause are probably minor compared to what is likely to happen within the next decade or so. """ Don't worry Ludwig, I think you'll get your wish out of this one. I just saw the weather forecast for the Korean peninsular for the next 400 thousand years, 8000c and cloudy. Should put a nice dent in the population, doncha ya think? Posted by RawMustard, Wednesday, 24 November 2010 7:40:30 PM

Pied Piper, a whole lot of silly people have grabbed hold of the Mayan calendar which says that it all ends, or clicks over to a new world order, or something weird like that, at 11.11AM on 21/12/2012. It’s all a bit millennium buggish I think. However, the time seems right for all of our huge stresses to start to really get the better of us, or for one of them to get out of hand and really start to have global impact. It just makes sense to me that our grossly unsustainable practices are going to jump up and really bight us on the arse at about this time. http://www.circlesoflight.com/blog/mystery-of-2012/ http://marklhitchcock.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/2012-Doomsday1.jpg Posted by Ludwig, Wednesday, 24 November 2010 8:39:24 PM

I grab a coffee and said “what movie you watching?” after spotting plane crash into twin towers.
“I’m watching the news” he says. “Fine, lie to your mother” I said and flounced out to have a smoke”.
I start wondering why he would have lied, smoke out and back inside, my first thought was #$%@ it we’re all dead.
What I said was “go to school” cause what was I gonna do?
In the years since whenever I think about it I pretty much come up with the same response. It’s similar to when I think about cricket, the baby bonus, and my violent when drunk neighbor
