Much of what you say is true jinny. We have become complainers as is demonstrated by the growing cynicism in politics and the like. Some of it is merited and if people don't complain or try to make a difference in some way in their communities, nothing will change. But we are a lucky country in comparison to many others, and perhaps those who complain just want to maintain what we have achieved and improve on what we have (albeit there will never be a consensus on what is good and what is bad).
Religious books don't hold the answers for everyone. As well as the good bits, other aspects of those religious texts disenfranchise or demonise other human beings and let's be honest these books are written by very real 'human beings' who wrote them in a particular time within a particular cultural mindset. But that is the view of an Atheist and it won't marry with the true believers. Posted by pelican, Wednesday, 20 October 2010 8:07:54 AM

jinny,
Don't be sorry for an excellent post. I asked similar questions recently as while traveling in Thailand i noted the relative contentment of the people and that their standard of living was not the third world version i had expected. I suspect the answers are complex and probably beyond my limited knowledge of the social fabric. The thing that stands out to me the most is that here in Australia we seem to live in fear. Not like people who live under dictatorships like in Burma, but a fear of the future and most of all loosing what we have. This is expressed in many ways such as our disillusionment with politicians, suspicion of immigrants and deep distrust of certain religious groups. Where the real problems lie i can only speculate. In my own life escaping high density populations has made an enormous difference to how i live. Not having television has removed the constant hammering of news and current affairs and a much more simple lifestyle has helped me lower my stressed levels. I can not say this would help everyone, but i notice when visiting friends in western Sydney how their views of events are dictated by their favourite news show and despite offering more information they are determined the six o'clock news must be right. The density of population is intense which seems to lead to much conflict and their understanding of people and places outside their own area is poor. They even thing people on the north shore are different and strange. Personally i think much of our problem is that we have grown our cities too large to quickly and created a lot of misunderstandings and confusion throughout it's people. Poor infrastructure in these cities have caused over crowding of roads and public transport, as well as seen a deterioration in educational facilities and health systems across the board, we see this as an attack on our standard of living. "We are here, to make our world a better place"
Quite the opposite: The world is here to make us better individuals: we are eternal, while the world is only incidental. The world is not meant as an end for itself, it is there to facilitate us learning and growing while we come here as guests. Had the world been "perfect" in itself, it could not serve its purpose as training-ground, which it does so perfectly already - so why talk about improving it? There's nothing at all wrong with complaining. There's so many injustices in the world, both small and big, that to not complain would be wrong. Also remember that one person's injustice can be another person's nirvana. Therefore almost nothing in this world can be accurately measured in black and white terms.

Not everyone complains, I don't complain, most times. I say live and let live, One thing that puts me off side is when someone tries to push their religious beleifs on to me, it don't work.
The latest i heard was the great lord is coming next year, the 21 may 2011. How can anyone really believe those sort of statements. If people were more realistic there would be less to complain about , or blame for. Posted by 579, Wednesday, 20 October 2010 4:03:06 PM

your getting some good replies jinny,..so i will try to add my opinion too...why is is as it is
is because fear needs others to share their fears think of fear as loosing energy.. and that in the after life the fears ...we leeched out from fearfull events during our lives.. form mirror images ..of that we feared our live fears..supports these phantoms.. helps sustain them a zombi/like version of life [empty human like shell-forms ..formed by people's fears made/kept.. real by ..real or imagined fears that eminate ..from us ..when we fear giving these phantoms... their....needed life-force ..energy to sustain their ...astral form...that allows human body occupation these ghosts/..waifs ..forms/ shells.. are only sustained a ..resemblance of life ..by feeding off,the fears of us ..still living [thats why ..we need to {eventually}...fear nothing] ie fear no evil...that only sustains fears delusions giving evil ..the means ..to interact with this reality no more fear..they will simply disappear..! think of them as much-like leeches... only they get energy not from our blood ..but our fears it gets more worrying...these empty astral-shells are able to be used by spirits ..[good/bad] who have no soul-body themselves ...[its the bad spirits that feed our fears... [so they can have ..an astral-body].. no fear no astral shells sustained ..off our fears for them to use anyhow its true ..that this life ..isnt meant to be perfect really bad events ...allow us ..to do better good we really are here ..to learn to chose between love or hate.. [god trusting ..in the end ..we chose love] we must all be allowed to complain.. [but it dosnt change much] in the end its only by doing*.. good..! [not complaining of ..bad*] that makes ..good real* we should never accept bad as being in anyway good others complaining of bad... is the only way ...some learn*...what bad is [like they say...an egsample .. is worth a thousand words] Posted by one under god, Wednesday, 20 October 2010 4:34:33 PM

First and foremost, I wish to express my gratitude for all your responses...
pelican: Everyone is lucky. They just don't know yet. Religious book, i'm not saying everything that is stated in them are true.. but there are certain passages, that if you get them, will make you accept life. I have read many, and I always relate it to my personal experience. Our brains... if i am not wrong... weighs only 2% of our body weight, consumed 20% of out energy. Scientist tries to proof this and that, but when it comes to believes, that can't prove nuts! Miracles to them are a disbelieve because, they think by having paper qualification, they know better. Society, are so brain washed into believing what all this powerful people believe, that they don't even know what to believe in anymore. All they know, from what I see is the hurt and pain the have had(not everyone), and then they try to reason. They can't reason. Because our brains(the normal human) have been subjected since we can remember, to believe what others believe, our parents, friends, media, etc. As I said in a previous discussion, we have forgotten our instincts. Our instincts to protect, love, cherish, appreciate, forgive, help and understand. Posted by jinny, Wednesday, 20 October 2010 8:52:15 PM

Jinny <"Scientist tries to proof this and that, but when it comes to believes, that can't prove nuts! Miracles to them are a disbelieve because, they think by having paper qualification, they know better."
The problem with many people who have strong beliefs in a God or religion, is that they seem to think all 'scientists' don't believe in in the same things! Why ever not? Just because they have an enquiring mind and a university education doesn't mean they should all be non-believers does it? We shouldn't forget that while many scientists may not believe in miracles as such (like me!), they do believe in serving mankind by continually trying to find new cures or preventatives for many diseases, or answers to many problems we may have in our world. I think you are being too tough on the average human Jinny. I see plenty of good in most people I come across, so I am sorry that you obviously don't meet many 'good' people in your life. Dear nairbe: Thank you. Yes.. in Asia, they life a more simple life. but that is all changing. Stress is a pandemic, and it is spreading to the undeveloped countries as we read. It used to be simple, happy, life. Nowm they have to worry about government rulings. I think they will fight for what they believe. They have been, and still are. The riots there are not acceptable here in Aus coz there are more laws n fears in ppl here. All they know is: if I decide to challenge the law, the law I decided to break, everyone will question my actions and judge me.
Guess what? I am challenging the law. I want to see.. what arguement they come up with.. I will learn. I suffer, but it is only an emotional pain, and my brain can deal with that. Yuyutsu: why improvement? don't u see the wrongs? should we just let the wrongs be wrongs, or try to change it into rights? the opposite? you are wrong. Sorry, i hv not read about your believes. samsung: There is plenty wrong with complaining. Complaining does not help with improving anything. it is a waste of time and energy, and it doesn't help anyone except expressing their frustrations. What is the point of complaining? If there's a problem, or something you don't like, put an effort to try to change it. If you think you can't change it? sit at home, go out, wherever and do the things that brings you joy instead. :) isn't that better then complaining? Put a smile on somebody else's face?
I just wrote somewhere today because of the sky, it was dark on one side and bright on the other: "ying n yang, black n white, positive n negative, right n wrong, happy n sad, life n dealth... Always a choice." 579: Good on you! I have met few like you and they have great energy. What you heard is evolution taking action. Don't have to believe. Just keep doing what you are doing. If it is meant to happen, it will, if not, then not. We can't predict the future and shouldn't waste too much time wondering what is going to happen as we only life in the present. UOG: What is it you fear? What happened in your life that caused you to fear. Fear is something you have created in your mind, over many, many years. Bad has always an explanation, always a reason. Humans are born perfect. There is always a reason: something happened to them that made them do bad things at one time or other in their lives. Does not make them forever bad. They learn, they realize why, most of them, the ones who are not to mentally damaged. And they change. from doing bad, they try hard to do good :) Posted by jinny, Thursday, 21 October 2010 4:28:13 AM

suzeonline: Thank you ms for your contribution. How am I being tough on humans by sharing my thoughts here? This is virtual. In reality I change lives. I help people through their pain and suffering and make them want to be better, they want to get well. They want to be happy. I wish I have more time. I did not state anywhere about not believing. I said beliefs are very good for the mind. Also, I don't think i said that scientist are always wrong? I am just discussing to learn and understand more. So thank you and have a great day :) I am sure you will.
We have evolved. I wrote that those who do not accept technology, does not accept reality. How by not learning and understanding these wonderful devices that have made our lives so much more interesting and convenient will it help? Ignorance? I survive and grow with them, same with the energy I receive from the sun, water, my plants and life around me. All is help, helping me to help our planet. If the world had more people who could go: "I struck the jackpot!!" when they withdraw cash from the ATM, hands in the air, jump up and down with a big smile, it would make some difference, a good difference :) Posted by jinny, Thursday, 21 October 2010 4:29:38 AM

JINNY quote<<'What is it you fear?>>>i dont fear things [after i learned fear only breds more fear i simple let go of fearing anything]
<What happened.. that caused you to fear>>.was allways self induced.... so i stopped self inducing it....chose to chosec love not fear <Fear is something..created in your mind>>i can only agree its much more fun making love ...much beter than making fear, <<Bad has always an explanation.. always a reason.>>.yet its lack of propper reasoning that allows people to create fear we chose either TO fear or to reject fear <<Humans are born perfect>> because we were created by an act of love. then if not actually by a loving act we are yet sustained by gods love to live <<There is always a reason:>> just like there can be a choice derived FROM reason[s] its a matter of seeing reason then letting go of fear without becomming hard-hearted or spiritually blind to things as they are ..[at this moment in time]...just because NOW is giving excuse for fear...is no excuse to submit to it <<something happened..that made them do bad things>> yes action ..then RE-action..they TAKE CONTROL of the reaction ..being their CHOICE ..to not fear << They learn, they realize why, most of them>>..yes we are them ...they are us ...we inverted>< becomes me ... love thy neighbour means find reason .. to love the one your with... ..even if ..only with/ by yourself Posted by one under god, Thursday, 21 October 2010 7:23:06 AM

"Yuyutsu: why improvement? don't u see the wrongs? should we just let the wrongs be wrongs, or try to change it into rights? the opposite?"
So long as we are in life, there is no escape from action. We don't even need a theory of right-and-wrong in order to act, for even animals act without having ever read a philosophy-book or attended a political meeting. So we must act, whether we like it or not. Ideally we should act not because anything is wrong, but simply because it is our duty to do so. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and so are wrongs. Nothing is really wrong, but as long as we perceive things to be wrong, it may be part of our duty to try to fix them. In doing so, it is not as it seems, that we actually fix anything external, but nevertheless, it helps us to improve ourselves. Contentment is a virtue: here is a nice explanation that I found: http://exploringyogawithlaura.blogspot.com/2007/11/santosha-contentment.html Posted by Yuyutsu, Thursday, 21 October 2010 9:06:21 AM

If you were on an expensive yacht or a dinky fishing boat, and it started to leak, you would obsessively try to find the hole.
In case of political cynicism, when you find something amiss in society, you would want to put a stop to it. And when politicians refuse to touch it, and the breadcrumbs only lead to something that doesn't justify itself, the cynism begins. Same goes for anything; you identify a problem in society and try to trace a breadcrumbs back to the source; Some people are good at this, some people are stupid and will just believe what they are told- this is especially true for people who live in isolation. Also keep in mind, people may have it good here, but in many ways, people may have used to have it better- hence why there is so little optimism often. Of course, some people aren't so well to access the goodness we might have, but are heavily exposed to the bad. Posted by King Hazza, Thursday, 21 October 2010 1:05:16 PM

Thanks for sharing. Appreciated. I can't think of anything else to write to your responses. I have the choice of spending a little bit of time here to express, or do something that brings me more joy. I choose the later. Have a great weekend everyone! Thank you once again :) I'm off to entertain myself on the internet. Learn more, grow more, help more, make a difference.

Humans spend so much time complaining about everything. Politics? Why don't you take the job. The politicians are doing their jobs. It is their purpose in life. Because, they will be the cause for evolution in our society. It is never an easy job, but a job nevertheless.
We don't appreciate, we complain. We live in a good place, in a good era. We have technology that aids us, it helps in our daily lives. Some stranger tried to tell me yesterday about conspiracy theories.. He blames it on nano technology. Blah blah blah.. studied it for 15 years, etc... another guy blames in on Christianity. Now what puzzles me, is why we as humans, need to always have a source to put blame on?
All the secrets to the mysteries have been written down. They are in many religious books. Written by those who found out the secrets. When you read those lines, the verse, you need to understand them completely, and accept it. Then you will accept life as it is.
We are here, to make our world a better place, just to corrupted to realize it. We evolved into the superior species so we can help the rest. It all started from one cell.
Sorry for posting. Any feedback is appreciated.
