Nicnoto.
It gets worse. It seems man-kind has a lot to answer for. http://thedailyfix.com/2010/03/08/the-cove-is-about-brutal-dolphin-murder-japan-doesnt-care/ http://jahtruth.net/envird.htm http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,,5861377,00.html Man will eat this planet alive. Just watch the next 20 years. All I will be saying I told you so. TTM Posted by think than move, Friday, 1 October 2010 1:58:46 PM

It's not just the abuse of animals that's the problem - what about the abuse of vegetables, like boiling carrots and stuff like that? I used to be a breatharian until I started fretting about my inexcusable exploitation of all that innocent oxygen. Fancy having to go through respiration and ripping reduction all to satisfy unworthy me! Oh why was I ever born? Why can't all mankind just die - surely that would make for a bette world? Whatever will happen to the "the planet"? Oh sinful me, let me mortify my body for the good of my soul with the purging lash!

What a truly weird concept, Nicnoto.
>>Now don't tell me that that human existence is beneficial for the world<< Since when has it been necessary for us to be "beneficial" to the world? For millennia, we have been kicking and screaming and fighting for survival against world that resisted every step of the way, malevolent and unrelenting. We had to learn to defend ourselves against all forms of animal predator, on land, in the air and under water. Protect our families from flood, earthquake, volcanoes, tsunamis, meteors, squeezing an existence from the land and learning to feed ourselves from whatever was available. Now you want us to slink apologetically away, just because a few sleazebags treat animals badly? Are you aware that humans have a habit of treating each other badly too? "Local officials assisted in rounding up victims and making suitable places available for their slaughter. Tutsi men, women, children and babies were killed in thousands in schools. They were also killed in churches: some clergy colluded in the crime. The victims, in their last moments alive, were also faced by another appalling fact: their cold-blooded killers were people they knew - neighbours, work-mates, former friends, sometimes even relatives through marriage. Even aid agencies were helpless; having let into compound or hospital people injured or in flight, they were forced to leave them there. Few survived." http://www.ppu.org.uk/genocide/g_rwanda1.html If you want to wring your hands about the nastiness of mankind, why choose widdle doggies and fluffy pussycats? Get a grip. We are immensely fortunate, just to be alive. Don't waste it on feeling sorry for yourself. Posted by Pericles, Friday, 1 October 2010 5:50:11 PM

"Are you aware that humans have a habit of treating each other badly too?"
No I am completely ignorant to that fact. Instead of spending a good five minutes attempting to belittle my obvious disgust in animal cruelty. Try showing a little compassion. I am aware of the horrifying acts men commit upon each other and I am equally disgusted in it. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to attach links to genocide and napalm effects. I can't see how the fact that I didn't do that warrants your displeased response. Obviously I have offended you. "If you want to wring your hands about the nastiness of mankind, why choose widdle doggies and fluffy pussycats?" There were too many examples to chose from. This concerns my chosen profession. Get a grip. We are immensely fortunate, just to be alive. Don't waste it on feeling sorry for yourself" Yes. Because it is myself I am feeling sorry for. Oh poor me! the animals are being tortured. The self pitty is overwhelming, wait...no, that's compassion for other life. I can see how that is confusing. You get a grip. Posted by Nicnoto, Friday, 1 October 2010 7:17:55 PM
