There you go again Pericles with lame attempts at character assassination. We know we are having an effect.

On 11/9/09 we have a little demonstration outside the ABC studios.Lo and behold who should come along and single me out for some reason. It was a plain clothes AFP officer who said he was there to protect us,and what were were doing could be dangerous because certain right wing forces might not agree with what we were doing. He gave examples of the infighting between Tamil Tigers and Sri Lankin nationals and kept repeating how he was there to protect us from possible threats. To me it was an attempt at intimidation.

If what ae911truth is saying is so ridiculous, then why bother even turning up.After our few minutes of conversation he [AFP] quickly left and did not keep his promise of protecting us.

Architects and Engineers for 911truth are no a bunch of uneducated wackos. This group only started 2 yrs ago and now has over 900 professionals in these fields and over 5000 other supporters, with numbers growing daily.Add to this the other 911 truther movements and we have serious credibility.

Many are too scared to join this group because of the serious implications it has for both Govt and the perpetrators. There are now millions around the planet who know the truth, and slowy they are getting the courage to join the chorus for justice.

Hardly character assassination, Arjay. More an observation on the company you keep.

>>There you go again Pericles with lame attempts at character assassination. We know we are having an effect.<<

The effect you are having is probably not that which you assume.

Our conversations here have opened my eyes to the explosion that has occurred in the conspiracy industry in recent years, triggered by the power of the internet.

Previously, my only contact had been through letters, in green ink and tiny handwriting, written on both sides of thin notepaper (as well as vertically, in the margins), explaining how the CIA were tracking the writer's every move...

The conspiracies themselves haven't changed much, and still share many common characteristics.

They are, invariably, invisible to all but the cognoscenti. These consist mostly of paranoids, who now band together in cyberspace to reinforce each other's fear of authority. Each new recruit adds to the excitement, that they, and they alone, know the truth, while all the rest of us live in ignorance.

This aspect of self-aggrandizement provides the necessary positive feedback, that keeps the whole ball rolling. It is probably why the participants never seem to subscribe to any one single conspiracy, but an entire raft of them. It's addictive.

The conspiracies themselves have repeating motifs. There is a secret society of powerful figures, whose entire lives are spent oppressing the citizenry, while robbing them blind.

These cabals can have religious overtones (Jewish bankers feature prominently), but mostly it is "governments within governments", pulling the strings of the frontline politicians, while feathering their own nests.

The internet has been a godsend to the conspiracy industry. It hasn't made the existence of the secret squirrels any more factual, but it has enables the subscribers to feed each other's fantasies at the click of an Enter button.

So Arjay, while you may see my observations as ridicule, or character assassination, or whatever, to me they are simply an easy means to indulge my fascination with human nature, in all its glory and all its different manifestations.

So thank you, and keep up the good work.
