When terrorism finally comes we will realise just how stupid we have been as a nation with our apathy towards our own safety...from within and to the external.
Internally...theres never been enough police. The Federal Police and ASIO have always been under-funded. Because of shortfalls they allowed Islam to grow and subvert and store firearms for Jihad. Maybe it couldnt have been stopped? I dont really know. And now we are approaching the edge of revolution within. Towards the external...Australias Defence Department has been 3rd world for decades. Like old men the 3 services sat under the US nuclear umbrella and lit up their cigarettes and drank their coffees and snoozed off in the afternoon sun while Indonesia and China built huge armies. Creepily...we even trained Indonesian soldiers under good old 'red' Labor. Trained them to invade OZ. Australia has already had a warning about an asian invader. It started to come through the christian churches some 30 years ago and the period of warnings lasted 20 years or so. It was carried by the few in the churches who recieved visions and prophecies and 'words of knowledge' on prayer lines about an invader taking half of the land and establishing an enemy government in the north. If you want a record of just some of those revelations my blog is at http://whatwillbecomeofaustraliajackburrell.blogspot.com/ In more ways than one I think we are an idiot country. Gibo Liberal governments have equally provided 'training' for Asian forces.
I agree that Australia's police force is sorely underfunded to the point now where many minor crimes go un-investigated due to the need to prioritise and target resources to the more serious crimes. I would argue that ASIO has always had just the right funding to suit the times. The funding to ASIO and other counter-terrorism agencies has increased in response to the increased threat of terrorism. Funding is generally tailored in response to the level of threat. Australia has been largely isolated from the threat of terrorism up until recent times where we have seen our level of alert rise from Low to Medium in response to 9/11, Bali, Spain, London and the bombing of the Australian Embassy in South Jakarta. That would make Gibo a very typical Australian then, wouldn't it? Posted by CJ Morgan, Sunday, 11 January 2009 4:05:58 PM

At least Im willing to say something about gross old Defence. Round the clock, to the far north, in great secrecy, China churns out guns and equipment for millions of soldiers for the future invasion of South East Asia and Australasia. China builds not just for herself but for a confederacy of asian nations...i.e. North Korea and any other asian nation who will either join her in her outward march, or be co-erced into joining her. If we click on THE KINGS OF THE EAST or The Signs that we are in the End Times we can read about good old, friendly old, loving old, China. She will kill millions across asia when she moves...and she looks like coming here too. Posted by Gibo, Sunday, 11 January 2009 4:32:28 PM

Gibo before line two it was clear you had posted that.
Rubbish mate sorry but that is what it is, if every Australian was a policeman, if an equal number could be found for our armed forces, it would not be enough. China has played no part in terrorist acts against us, few think they ever will. The terrorists we face use an idea and a form of a religion, not every one from that religion but far too many hate blindly. We mankind do not know what the next ten years brings, terrorists may kill many but we will continue to go back wards if leadership leads us into more Iraq's. Our best hope is one day we will all understand the myth of religion is no freind of man. Posted by Belly, Sunday, 11 January 2009 6:46:02 PM
