Someone once said "God protect me from Zealots"
What we have is the "rent a panic mob" that has collectively lost perspective.
Who in this country isn't aware of the threat of paedophiles etc? Anyone? Quick look under the cabbage leaf there has to be one suumwhere? As for actual paedophiles well …. Every male is o potential rapist, wife/child beater why not one of them too.
Then there’s the fact that paedophile have a toxic radius of well at least 15ks. Having them under 24 hr surveillance doesn’t matter they’re there “how am I going to explain it to my 3yo?”
“I know let’s have a protest meeting for all the defiled children…Calling for mob action. (will it help? Not likely) but it will be on TV… and it sure beats supervising our children or monitoring what they’re doing. Well I’m busy and I have a right to a life! Anyway it’s good to show the children I care, it’s quality time… after the rally I’ll be too tired to cook tea I can take the children to Macca’s they’ll love it then home for TV then bed. I’m such a good parent.”
(Flash! More children are harmed by junk food and marketing indoctrination than by paedophiles then there’s the message you’re sending to your impressionable children….be afraid, be very afraid “)
“…Maybe we should raise a protest meeting”
Don’t you just love hysterical Cut Lunch Campaigners? What’s worse is that these escapees from natural selection vote.

It must be a strange school, at my son's school they wear uniforms to school. Even in the pool they wear swimmers and rash shirts for sun protection.

Having the kids running around the playground naked raises the risk of serious sunburn.

Get the kids to wear clothes, give the playground supervisers a decent pair of binoculars so they can look back at anybody behaving suspiciously on a nearby balcony and the issue seems to be covered. It's not like apartment dwellers can easily cut and run if spotted taking photo's of kids in a playground from their balcony.

Took me a while to 'get' this title... but now having done so.. I see the problem.

We are faced (as runner says) on the one hand with a level of sexual permisiveness, of pornographization of our social values, and the voices who should loudest to ALLOW all this, are those who now seem to be shouting at a council for taking a reactionary step to 'protect children'.

I don't see how 5 stories as opposed to 8 will stop a person on the top floor from looking at a playground..nor how people in cars nearby cannot also film, photograph or view children playing.

THE PROBLEM really get's back to what kind of society we want.
Don't call Runner,Gibo,Katie etc and myself "wowsers" because we would like to end the flood of pornography shadowing our every step in most towns.

-Club X
-The Shaft cinema
-Adult Megamart
-Sexyland (near me)

Then we have high profile opinion shapers from Hollywood telling us that it's all nothing to worry about, (if they don't say it they live it)

We have a retired QC and a Policeman caught in the child porn net.. we have had a number of other high profile sex scandals

<<a town planner, Beth Morgan, was involved in sexual relationships with three developers - and received cash and gifts from two of them - while she was approving their property developments worth a combined $135million.>>

Doesn't it tweak with folks that we are rotten to the core and these are only those who were CAUGHT?...

Of course this is the time when I'd normally drop a few verses in for reflection.... but I won't. All who come here can read....

SUMMARY
-fix the politicians and you fix the politics.
-fix the people and you might get decent politicians.
-how are people fixed? .....

This has nothing to do with pornography Poly.

This has to do with whipping poor gullible parents into a frenzy over paedophilia, and the stupid consequences of that.

It's about letting the fear of perverts rule our lives and going so far as to change building permits on apartment blocks.

It's about the ridiculous consequences of moral panics Poly, and who is responsible for (or at least like to fan the flames of)most of those?

Amen brother.
Apparently my attempt at satire fell flat. Ho hum back to the drawing board.

Poly/Boaz:

"-how are people fixed? ....."

As I understand a couple of snips with the surgical scissors is all it takes...

I was going to take the camera to family Christmas celebration, see how much my little cousins had grown - should I leave the camera at home; what if its a hot day and they're in their bathers?

So much to panic about so little time.
