Yep Ceej, I’m a pinko commie greenie…. and prreyowd of it!! Not a full-on red-under-the-bed, but a light pink socialistically-oriented common garden type of commo greenie who believes in democracy with a considerably stronger socialistic aspect than we have in Oz.

In fact, a stronger socialistic bent to our governance goes hand in hand with a more democratic system…and is much more amenable to a green future, yes?

“Look under your beds! They're everywhere! We're under attack!”

Oh, if only it was true!! If only there were PCGs under every bed! We’d all be saved (:>)

Don't worry Gibo.
The world has much more to fear from the excesses of capitalism than it does any Communist regime' in China. China is moving away slowly from Communism and is developing economically at a fast rate.

I mean they even have McDonalds. :)

Fractelle: "What is it with being religious and spreading fear? IS that how they get converts? Hmmmmm."

I think religious people are fearful. That's why they become religious. They spread it because they are infused with it.

Those god-botherers who don't believe there can be morality without religion are afraid of what they might get up to if they didn't have religion to keep them on the straight and narrow.

Gibo, you are absolutely correct. The threat is imminent.

Time to round up a whole bunch of demons (next time they drop in for some wrestling), load them into the old flying saucer (how'd the repaint turn out on that?) and drop them over key points in China.

That will fix them.

Maybe you could collect a few more prophecies about communism as well, make sure you ignore any that are not saying what you don't want to hear though. Just focus on the ones which are on your pet topic, that's how words from god and prophecy are supposed to work isn't it?

Fractelle I used to think Gibo meant well and had been conned by a cult but he's been caught with his hands in the deceptiuon bucket too often for me to think so anymore. Too often he has made it clear that he considers his own life experience more valuable than any research (and expects others to do the same) but at the same time treats others life experience as irrelevant.

Have a read of Gibo's time as a cop thread and see how much everybody but Gibo gets blamed for his life choices. His style sometimes suggests well meaning and mislead however the content over time makes that pretty much impossible to believe.

Gibo,

No. But the fear of communism or calling socialists communists could be used by an extreme right party against Australia's interests, as happened in Germany 1932/4. Middle of the road capalitalism is okay by me. Lee Yuan Yew was a Fabian, now look at him.

Potentially, Iran & North Korea are a bigger threat. China could emerge as a nationalist democracy, provided it does make the same mistake, it did in 1920s, not share its new wealth with peasantry. Albeit, today's oligarchs have more independence from Western banks, than when The Bund was at its peak.
