Settle down.
“Research shows that earthquakes of magnitude 7.0 or greater have remained fairly constant throughout the century and have actually decreased in recent years. However, since there are a greater number of seismological centers and instruments capable of locating many small earthquakes that went undetected in earlier years, it may seem as if there are more.” http://www.consrv.ca.gov/index/Earthquakes/Pages/qh_earthquakes_myths.aspx The Vikings believed that earthquakes were the result of Loki’s painful underground struggle in the realm of Svartalfheim. Makes as much sense as some of the stuff above. Posted by rache, Thursday, 15 May 2008 9:54:10 AM

Any explaination whether is supernatural or not, is fine. But don't forget, especially for those who care about Tibetan just a month ago, that quake epicenter area is minority autonomous region where 52.3% are ethnic Tibetan, 17.7% are Qiang, 3.2% Hui (lots of them are Muslim).
At the same time, China is taking all-out efforts to help those affected by the earthquake. Tens of thousands of forces moved one hundred Km by foot to access remote mountain area at night. Ten thousand elite parashute forces from east China were advancing towards the disaster-hit regions within hours after quake because even helicopter couldn't access the area due to severe wind, rain and roadblock. And volunteer blood donators (most ethnic Han) queued hundreds of metres at the first night in Chengdu metropolitan area 120 Km away from epicenter. A man can be ignorant, but should not be hypocritical!

Centra. I dont think any one of us is mocking the disaster or the remarkable manpower effort to save those trapped under rubble.
Its a major calamity and my heart goes out to the people and to the familes of the lost. If what you say about the effort is as you say...its quite astounding to see such precision organisation swing into action. I think many us suffer from a little hardening of the heart towards the Chinese government that needs a watchful eye lest it carry over to a lack of heart towards the ordinary people of China. I dont believe the ordinary people are really like the dark government at all. Posted by Gibo, Thursday, 15 May 2008 4:12:45 PM

These quakes were inevitable after that huge one in the indian ocean a while back, with the tsunami. That side of the plate moved and rest is just following suit. There probably ill be a huge one in NZ inside the next two years. Move outta Wellington if you live there.

I wonder who the guru is at Boazy's gym?
Actually, Boazy's post raises an interesting point - in the extremely remote possibility of Jesus returning, who on Earth would believe him?
Certainly not us agnostics and atheists, people who subscribe to other religions, nor apparently Christian fundies.
