Has anyone noticed that before our Kev got converted to Global Warming he was a willing participant to Johns incentives for tackling Global Warming by handing out millions to new technology that cannot supply base load power.

Did anyone notice Kev object to Johns dictate that only the non base load power alternatives and Coal would be discussed in Parliament.

Has anyone else noticed that all Government grants and assistance went to new technology unable to supply base load power, with the excecption of exploring Carbon sequestration which even if could work, costs would be outside the pocket of consumers.

All of which left Coal Coal Coal and no abatement in Carbon emissions.

Have I missed Kevs epithany and new crusade to bring on those new technologies producing base load power that cut Coal usage in half, slash water wastage to zero, emmit half the Carbon and reduce the consumers electricity tariff without cutting back on power consumption.

75 times less Carbon in base load load power supply, is 75 times less Coal Carbon capture costs, is less 75 times the cost in Coal.

It also wipes our water consumption.

kev will do what he can, as a politician. i believe it won't be enough. a politician has to get elected and can not afford to make enemies. a nation that has citizen initiative can get painful things done, when needed. that's why i push for democracy.

ozzies don't want to hear this, they are raised to be handless in politics, and the notion that the nation is theirs and should be guided by the people terrifies them. so it should, they are not citizen quality. but they could become so over time, and the creation of citizen initiative would wonderfully concentrate the minds of the politicians, lifting their game to hold their jobs.

it's no use complaining about the quality of politicians. they are what they are and have always been: only human, and not the best humans either. since you can't change the people, change the system. it's really easy, unless you're the same low quality as the pollies.

Carbon sequestration is old hat and has been done for years.
I just don't know what the fuss is about.
The problem for power stations is to separate the CO2 and then get it
to the place where it is to pumped down.

Anyway it is not really a problem, peak coal will occur in about 25 to
30 years and from then on something else will have to be slid into place
as the coal burners become obsolete at the end of their life.

Anyway the latest news is that we are heading for global cooling, oh dear !
Base load means full output day or noght, blowing like a gale or a dead calm.

Until such time as an economic storage is developed then we are stuck
with coal or geothermal.
Hopefully the molten salt method will pan out without massive losses.
If we don't have near 100% guarantee of power then just too many
functions and processors will be too risky.
