While those who did not see tonights news from NSW may be at a disadvantage most will have story's from local health.
It would seem as well as underfunding we are suffering from poor service from health professionals at every level.
Nurses to specialists we do all know a story Can money alone fix our health?
I have my doubts in another thread we complain about visits to Doctors but all our health system needs attention surely?

Anybody following the recent stories about Hospital inadequacies could get the impression that all these problems started in the last few years.

From my experience, these problems have been around for at least the last 20 years and I have the legal documents to prove it.

I think the overall problem is funding but there's a hell of a lot of blame-shifting between governments and crippling levels of administration for health professionals at all levels.

What's made things worse is the reduction in bulk-billing that's put pressure on Hospital Emergency wards, the lack of aged care facilities and the concept of Economic Rationalism that simply cannot work in a service environment without a reduction in the quality of service provided.

An overhaul of the whole system is long overdue and I hope that the current Government has the courage to get something done.

The major problem is funding and this is due to the incompetence of state government.

We only recieve 60% of funding as the state keeps the other 40% of our funding.

This is fact so how do we fix this.

Well we have to say thank you to the unions and media for their treatment of the people.

I totally agree with Wobbles. Our entire Health System needs a complete overhaul.

Jeff Kennett has a lot to answer for in the state of Victoria. He cut funding and destroyed the hospital system to the point where wards were shut down and "junk" equipment was stored in hospital corridors (illegally) blocking exits for spare parts in case of emergencies. It will take the Labor government at least another ten to twenty years to recover.

Hopefull the new PM will keep his promise to work with the states
and restore the health system nation-wide.

Apart from the deliberate lie that our state government only spends 60% of its health money on health funding and training is a very real problem.
So too is infrastructure new Hospitals and equipment are needed badly.
The very fact we have two separate systems public and private is of little help.
But in this debate we must highlight far less tragic events are reported from private hospitals why?
We must not over look in the NSW case, yes this problem is in every state, actions of individuals is clearly not good, how can a nurse give medicines that the Doctor has forbidden to a patent?
Is failure to carry out the job they are paid to do playing some part in this crisis?
Given NSW is the state with the biggest numbers we can expect a bigger problem, even than Bundaberg? maybe.
I am stunned, in no way defending this states leader, the invisible man , our states leader so silent for so long seems to think his white shirt with coat over his shoulder looking statesman like will remove his lack of action for so long? go now mate please!

Belly you believe what you are told.

That fact is only 60% is spent and the state government keeps the other 40% this is fact from people in state government in the know, and from a very reliable source.

Fact

So Belly you should keep your lies as usual to yorself and those gullable enough to believe your party and union deciet.

When it comes down to it the state labor government is just a thief.

Maybe you would like to try the defamation angle take me to court and then I will be required to have my source stand, and then you will see the truth.
